I still can't forget the date. Some a$% tried to beat the light even though it turned red and rammed me in my side while I'm making a left turn. Didn't get much money from it though but atleast I got my health.
Here's the pics..

Im leaning to fix becuase the car mechanically is really good with only 107k miles for a 1994 gt. The sideskirts survived the damage since most of the impact was on the door. Quarter panel is dented, and several imperfections on the door which will require fixing for fitment. I was quoted at six fifty no paint though. I was told their gonna pull it. To be exact how do I check for frame damage considering our car correct me if I'm wrong is a unibody. Also I drove the car after the accident and covered the damage to see if there is any wobbling or steering problems while driving. It was perfect and there no problems at all. Drove it in the highway as well at 60 mph.

Any inputs would be nice. Thanks guys.

PS - I sthere anyone parting their car that has a the 2 speaker panel on the passenger door. And if so PM me please shipped to 11236.

I`d buy a cheap GT and reshell yours.....if there is chassis damage and the car is bent then it will never be the same again and possibly dangerous....also reshelling it might be cheaper...you could even make money selling parts off it that you dont need

get a manual tranny GT with a blown motor, swap all the goodies from this car and done. this seems like a big hit and the frame may be compromise, on the other hand, if the frame is not bent, you can just buy a door and a fender, then fix the lower part.

I'd still get a shell with a blown motor tho.

Good luck with it

i'm not really 100% sure, since our car is a unibody wouldn't that be a frame damage all together? I checked the huge steel frame underneath the car and its straight Most of the damage was at the door. The bottom of the three door hinge broke and snap and the seat prevented the car door from going in further. The lower part of the car on the side is dented but not bent. I'll post a pic of it later. Either way I'll get it checked out.

get the body checked out, if the frame, a and b pillar, also roof isnt tweeked, get parts and send it to a body shop, keep going

if it is, find a 94-99 gt with a dead drivetrain swap everything over.

^What joe said.

It looks like it got hit pretty good. If the body shop says that there is no structural damage, then just have them repair the body damage. If there is structural damage, just find a good shell that is a 5sp with a blown engine, and swap all your good parts and engine over.

Anyone in NY know of a good collision shop?

My problem is that license is gone. Car still drives but can't drive it no where. I guess I have to get it towed.

rocker panel seems to be dented but the steel structural frame seems to be intact. im gonna get the car towed and get it checked.

if that was me i'd be getting the insurance money and buying myself another one. Getting all the good parts off that one and replacing them on the new car. I had my 1st GT Four (ST185ATA) stolen when it was in storage over the winter a few years back and the people who stole it, hit another car and a kerb, i could have fixed it but my heart wasn't in the car anymore so when i got the funds together i went up to bigger and better things, I bought myself a Carlos Sainz and broke the ATA and made back every penny that it cost me in parts. Its worth thinking about.

For your car i'd be having the insurance company have an assessment done before i done anything with the car, over here they'd write that car off if there was structural damage to the chassis and secondly it would cost too much to repair as its an old car.

same happened to mine 3 years ago ... did you firewall bent? If so your screwed... your dashboard seems good though... the glovebox on mine poped-out and the dash had a big ass bent in it...

did the passenger seat lever broke? ahahah tongue.gif

edit: saw that it didnt bent anything where the door mounts... so your probably good if you change the door but what about the rocker? you should make that check by a pro

Looks like from the pictures that the frame is not bent. I'd say fix it and drive it. Depends on how much you are attached to your car....
If you were in central Ohio my buddy's shop would have you back on street in no time. smile.gif

Sorry about the damage. That was me back in november except my most damage was in the rear quarter and the other driver took off!! But I went through what you going through right now especially, after I found out it was going to cost $5400 to fix. I ended fixing it only because I found a good deal in a small shop for $2900 after getting a used door from a 6gcer here: Richee, awesome fellow! and secondly only because I have a swap and I figured by the time I get everything switched over, it would have cost more. Basically if the frame is not damaged it can be fixed but its costly. You might get it cheaper if the door rocker panel? (pillar) is still intact and not bent in, otherwise you have to get the entire rear quarter panel replaced with the pillar and another door plus painting.
Good luck.
