easiest way to go is a 7th gen short shifter pops right in and the difference is that a short shifter will reduce throw not just height

Just wondering what big difference between change a short shifter and cut the original one shorter ? like a stupid question ?! I used to have a good comparison between a TRD and Stock Shifter in pictures posted, but I think I got rid of them. Essentially by cutting the stick on the stock shifter, you're requiring more force to shift as the pivot point remained in the same location. But, on the TRD shifter, the pivot point got moved in addition to the stick being shortened, so effort was only minimally affected. -------------------- |

TRD short shifter is the way to go - I've owned them on 3 cars now. Perfect mix of height effort and ease of selecting gears. Alot of the ones that are available are just way too short for me and alot of other people.
