Even though I crave more power than the 5s-fe can offer....I know with anymore power I would kill myself. So maybe it's good I don't have the cash/time for an engine swap...yet

Join the SCCA. Go to Autocross events. And study driving techniques.
The more you know/practice good driving skills, the more likely you are to avoid an accident. Just last Thursday my SCCA(RallyCross) experience saved my life(well, at least my Celicas life). I was 'playing' with a 240SX(91 or so) when I had a blowout taking a curve at 85mph. I was turning left and the rear right went out causing a horrific drift(I like drifting, but only when I mean to). The main problem was the speed involved, but there was a telephone pole a few feet off the road that was now coming quickly at my passenger door. Somehow I managed to save it, but because I was still going around 60 with a blown tire, it started drifting the other way. Luckily the 240 driver was ahead of me when it happened, and I only had a mile or so to make it home. I got home, changed to the spare, and went to bed so I could wake up at 5am(work sucks). All I can say is that I'm thankful for the fact that I do 'play' a lot and have built up some instinct for situations like that. And things like that just make me want to learn more so I can avoid them all together, or at least have the right reactions when they do. The small amount of skill I have saved me from certain hospitalization(sp?), but playing around still cost me $240 for 2 new tires(Potenza RE910). BTW, I don't recomend 'playing'. I didn't know the guy, but I could tell that he just wanted to play, nothing serious. I never get serious unless it's an SCCA event(maybe someday it will be something better, but not anytime soon). |

i feel a sleep while driving for about 10 seconds and when my girls screams woke me up i was handing stight for the center divider... well thats when instanct kicked in and with out even think i forced the car to spin to one slow it down and two to get it back in the direction i wanted it to go in... and i did this all with a lot of cars around me.. thank God none of them hit me.... Oh yeat celi's are great for causing spin outs.... -------------------- |

celi's are 180 kings get going to about 30-40 mph, cut the wheel, and e-brake until swung into proper spot, then let down e-brake.
