personally if you sourced the parts your self, found some good deals, had a shop custom make you the pipes, Im, and EM, and then have them install it, it would probably be alot cheaper, then with the money you save build up your engine.

you might want to talk to matthew (gt2gt4/igotta5sfeturbo) he sez that he had the kit
personally, I dont think the kit is worth it, for less than 2500 you could by an st185 and if you dont want to swap, the parts for turbo can be sourced cheaper --------------------

Burien was my first option until I talked to some people about going another direction. I found parts and had others made custom and with variouse parts from other people, its has save me a bundle.

ok i forgot to post this, but i went to burien toyota and talked to them about there kit.
everyone here and everywhere else says dont go past 7psi non-intercooler etc... i agree, but burien told me that their kit can be run at 14psi unintercooled. and that they have been doing on their celica for 2 years now. and you dont need a boost controller to set the boost. they do it off there pop-off vavle which controlls the psi instead of a wastegate. so if 7psi makes 185 horsepower or whatever than 14 psi should make anywhere from 210-240 horse. how much of what the burein mechanic told me was true i dont know. but he did work at burien TRD and tell me this face to face. i looked at their celicas and N/A mr2 that run their. and even a decently nice all-trac. now i have the "swap". But if i were to go back now since i know what a pain in the ass and how expensive the swap really is, i would of definatly of gone with buriens kit. |
