Is there any difference in the mechanics of the swap for the st205 vs st185 or is it just the electronics?

I spose in some cases in would be difference in mechanics...seeing as if you got any of the 3sgte's with the W/A intercooler...it'd be a neat idea to get the GT4 hood. Otherwise you will go FMIC and well...the electronics will be a bit different. The mechanics may differ in the fact that you can get parts in the US for the ST185 but not for the ST205 unless they're imported.

Your going to have to figure out how to route water into the intercooler. You'll also need to get some kind of bonnet because the W/A intercooler is pretty large and so it wont fit. Hence the gap on GT4 hoods. The wiring is nuts, have fun with it.

I am relaxed, it just seems to me that everytime someone makes a post that seems stupid to you, you have to make some degrading reply. I think that your comments might turn someone away from this website.

its probably not to much fun for Avai

To me it seems alot of people are asking the same questions more frequently. This forum has been around what? a year and a half almost? These questions have been answered 10x before and it'd be more helpful for someone to do a quick search than to repost.

i'm with supersprynt

here is what you should look at

http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=1448

there is the feasible engine swaps sticky

if you have a 98 and up GT then you will have a hard time swapping in the engine because the binary codes for the USDM electronics have not yet been released by toyota. which means that you would have to redo your entire fuel system with a stand alone management system. ORRR have someone with access to those codes do it for you. ex: EL prototypes

the 3rd gen 3s-gte has a bigger head and bigger ports and a bigger intake manifold.

but on the 2nd gen 3s-gte you can boost to around 16 or 17 psi on stock internals and have over 300hp easily

that should be enough for most people

anymore than that you wont be asking questions like this on here

not trying to be a dick and if anyone else thinks so dont mention it

you need to research more into this

I am in complete agreement with you, but just replying by saying "search" should be enough. It bothers me a little bit that some people can seem to search "3s-gte" but if they are interested enough in the celica to inquire about a 3s-gte swap, I will try to answer every question, no matter how stupid I may think it is.

but yes, it would definately be easier if people learned to search.

So would you rather me post this instead... everytime I see a question repeated?

Or maybe we should suggest to Coomer that we make a BLINKING sticky gif or flash file so that people will notice the stickies first...

What do you say?

I can understand, when a new quy comes in and is excited about the web-site becuae he thinks" whoa, I can learn all I can from site." I wouldnt expect someone to learn how to find what their looking for if they have an urgent question in their head and rush to a post it. But then like someone said I do see the same post over and over again, but we cant give the sh** for it, we want more people, we want more fans of the site. How would you feel if the first topic you put up was flammed to the ground? Not very cool. Just try to be more sensitive that they come here for answers that will probally end up impacting them purchasing a major part.
