if u can afford it get an st-205 from clip, u will need is the diff from an mr2 turbo gearbox to make the gt4 gearbox fwd and half shafts from the mr2 turbo and u will have to get custom axles made. every thing else u will need the front clip will provide.

Custom axles are not necessary.

no matter what it will be FWD, the only way to make it AWD is very expensive, so no one will give you any advice on how to make it anything other then FWD.

Whats different about the solara tranny, and did someone say that the 3s-ge tranny is an e-153?

Like I said before

You will need a custom exhaust

Maybe a custom intake for the AFM..?

Probably a Full Tune UP

FMIC is recommended, unless you are going to install a scoop

There are a lot more little things you need so you should do a search and you will find it easily since this swap is constantly talked about.

ok i know now that i need the e-153 tranny in order for the 3sgte engine to run smoothly and allow everything to work fine and not blow anything up.  my question is how much would it cost me if i was to go to toyota and ask them for one?  what year should i get for this v6 camry tranny?  all i need is this in order to start my 3sgte swap.  I'm really excited to start on it but this is the only thing holding me back.  can't wait  biggrin.gif

If you want to get an accurate price, you may want to try calling the parts department at Toyota...

When I called one locally, I was quoted around $1500 just for the (brand new) tranny...

is that a brand new tranny with or without LSD? without right?

It was with LSD. The one without LSD was around $1100.
