There is some car shows coming up and getting an engine or even deciding on all that goes with a swap is not in mind or budget for the rest of the year. I just had a recent makeover this whole year that costed me over 10gs, don't wanna spend too much more this year, trying to settle down, get a house, and a brand new SUV. I'll show you guys some pics by the end of this week how my car looks like now. A little bit different. But it takes a lot of money to even do that. I need something extra to open up hood on show.
back on topic - what about the double O2 sensor thing? I hate check engine lights. This post has been edited by trdproven: Jul 18, 2009 - 8:39 PM -------------------- 94 Celica GT

ic ic. Well header would make engine bay a look nicer. Well im sure the state you live in isnt strict like CA. do you have 2 o2 sensors on ur car?
my bro bought a obx header for his 5sfe camry and if you dont install the 2nd oxygen sensor (if that applys to you) then your check engine will come on. CA cars have pre cat and post cats. Same for the oxygen sensors, one main one and secondary one to monitor anything that the first one could of missed. Is it true low end torque loss is noticeable? On my friends' cars I wouldn't notice the difference because I don't own it.

naw id say you gain a little bit of torque. Notice a lilttle power hp increase in 1st, a little more in 2nd, a good increase in power 3rd and in 4th.

I got this header and replaced my whole exhaust system.
I have a 99 so that means OBD II. I removed my second O2 sensor and left it unplugged. No check engine lights so far, but I haven't taken it to do emissions either. I'm probably not due for another couple of years. However, I'm keeping my stock header in my basement in case I need to swap it back in for the 2 O2 sensors. If you live in California like me, you will have two O2 sensors. I e-mailed the folks at this e-bay header and they said they have only one O2 sensor on it, which is sort of weird considering they are in Walnut, California.
At this point I think I am opting out of this mod, but I may change my mind. I just don't like the idea of that 2nd O2 sensor hanging out... |
