I tried searching but I didn't find the answer I was looking for. I have a sticky accelerator pedal, which I think the main cause is the throttle cable. The best way I can describe the feeling is; you know when you were a kid and the brake line on your bike got stuck around the shielding thing, so you have to squeeze a little harder then you should, which usually sends a fast response to the brakes causing you to stop a lot faster then you wanted too? It's the exact same feeling, except I have to push a little harder to get fuel into the engine, and when it does go it makes the engine rev harder then it should (which also hurts MPG).
Normally this wouldn't bother me, but in cold morning when I start the car, it will just die instead of continuously idling, like it should. Someone referenced me to look into lubing the throttle cable, but I haven't the faintest idea where to lube it at, or even which lube to choose for the task. So my question is, anyone here experience something similar? If so, what was your solution to the sticky pedal problem, because I don't like holding down the pedal for the car to warm up and idle on it's own. -------------------- Brand new 6gc owner! Would a sticky pedal have anything to do with a transmission?

if your having idling trouble it's not throttle related, idle has a separate valve which may be blocked or stuck, that would certainly make the difference between idle and on-throttle transition a bit jerky

remove the gas pedal cable from the throttle, and turn the throttle by hand. if it feels like it's sticking, you'll need to clean your throttle valve or check the spring. if not, then the sticking is probably coming from the cable. lubing won't work if the source of the stickiness if further towards the middle of the cable. in that case, replace the cable.

Check your cable you should be able to kinda tell if it is working smoothly. Mine is getting smashed by the holder it is in on the engine and I have to kinda unscrunch it with pliers and retape it with black tape every once in a while. Mabey if you are in salty area it could rust inside I guess.
