So, Abby still needs her rear fenders rolled, and I can't seem to make time to do it, so she has sat in my garage since I took those last pictures... In the meantime, I've started planning out the engine swap.
So far, my list looks like this: - V6 engine Purchased - Intake Manifold $100 - Throttle Body $100 - Throttle Pedal $200 - ECU $100 - Engine harness, this includes connector A, B & C to the ECU. OBDII connector $200 - MR220V Conversion Harness $300-$500 New Parts - Gouky install kit - $1600 - 1MZ flywheel. I used a Fidanza 9.5lb - 350$ - High HP clutch. $500 *** I may just go with a twin disk clutch at this point since a competetion twin clutch is only $1200 - E153 Trans Purchased - Hybrid Axles w/ carrier bearing ?? - 61.5" 7rib v-belt - 60$ - fuel pressure regulator. The motor requires 43.5psi - 130$ - Toyota long life coolant - 70$ Exhaust Parts I have to go full custom here, as it frees up quite a bit of horsepower. $$$ At the end of it all, I'm looking at about 5k. I'd like to pull it down for a season, pound out all the work and have it back up in a few months, but we all know how projects go.... Are you ready Daniel? -------------------- ~bloodMoney

Gotta buy a house first, then we'll start.
Stacy thinks that I should finish the wagon first, as that is only going to be about 3k to complete. I think that I can bring the price down if I can find a car that has everything at a junkyard and pull it all in one fell swoop. Luke: Unlikely. I may just have a mexi place crush bend some pipe for me. If I wanted to go big $$$, I'd take it to Touge Factory and have them bend/fab up an exhaust, but they're labor isn't cheap. I don't know how strict laws are in your state but, man, for the price of getting an OEM ECU to work in there you could get a standalone...

Well, I recommend Naperville exhaust works. Those guys charged me 300 to weld up all of my pieces and they did a fantastic job. -------------------- |

It looks like the swap is going to have to wait.
Sadly, Abby is gone from us. Yesterday, a guy made a left turn across my lane and there just wasn't enough time for me to stop. There is no saving this one. This picture was taken just a few hours before the wreck. Richee3 was up for a visit And here's the other guy.... We'er both okay so far, woke up this morning sore, I've got seat belt rash/bruising and Stacy is still coughing the airbag smoke out of her lungs.... I just never even considered that her story would end this way. RIP Abby -------------------- ~bloodMoney

The BMW didn't get smashed from the wreck... You just don't kill Abby and get away with it.
Chris, I'm sorry to see that this happened, especially right after we left. You've been through a lot with this car and it's a terrible ending to her story. The most important thing is that you and Stacy weren't hurt. You can always transfer your parts to a new shell. I have no doubt that you'll come out ahead from all of this. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. I have a gt-four front clip if you're interested in putting your car back together, not sure how it would align.
But let me know. |

Thanks guys. I'm thinking that I'll pick up another one depending on how things go.
Now it's just waiting and recovering. Daniel nailed it though. I've been through a lot with Abby and that's what's killing me right now.... 5 years of work, wiped out in one second. -------------------- ~bloodMoney

yup, that's the thing. You can replace a celica, but you just can't replace an Abby.

Wow, rough update to read so I know it's even rougher to be the one posting it. I second, and third, everyone else saying I'm glad you and Stacy are doing alright despite the loss of Abby.
Can't wait to see what you do next. -------------------- Has no more Celicas
