Glad you guys are okay. You should report any injuries even if its just a sore.

I hate reading these kind of updates.
And it's weird that you always get hit on that side.

I hope this accident opens a door to something just as great or greater.

Makes me angry just looking at it. That might actually be repairable depending on how the frame rail looks. Good luck with everything. Don't give up!

With what has happened, all it means is that you get to do this with it now. http://youtu.be/GNRZPxISOB8

Zack: no.

I'm pretty sure they are going to total her out. I don't know that she'd ever drive right again....

It's not the end, I've owned Celicas for the last 14 years... I'm not about to start now smile.gif

Sorry to hear that, at least everyone is ok. Anything is possible though, just look at Ben and what he's doing.

This is true.

I just need to take a closer look at the car now that my endorphins have returned to normal levels, but judging from the close-up pic of the front left side, I'm pretty sure the frame is tweaked inboard and rearward.

Looked again and one of the pictures it looked pretty bad, considering it was hit on the driver side but now the passenger side fender and door are way off. At least Mr. German Engineering's insurance will cover it, hopefully they'll offer something fair the first time around.

I hope you save receipts. In the event that they total and you settle it's best to provide receipts for any and all modifications, and to request an appraiser. You will end up getting more money in the end regardless of if you decide to keep the car and repair it, or let them take it away.

I'll have to look and see if I still have that stuff... It may have gotten tossed in the move to the new house....

Doesn't that just figure.

I totally understand. You spend all that time fixing up your car then some idiot hits you and totals it. My 6 year Celica project was rear-ended in November. The unibody is too bent to justify spending the time and money to fix it when I can get a good used one for a couple thousand. I'm going to start a project thread about me stripping down my old car to nothing.
