I have a 1997 St. I need to replace the front brakes and calipers and i was wondering if anybody here has ever done an upgrade from an ST to a GT front brake upgrade Or a 6 gen to a 7 gen brake upgrade. I looked all round in this site but coul not find a lot of information on this specific matter. all i found was a tread about ST165 or ST185 brakes on a AT200. but i think i want to go with something that will be more easyly serviceable in the future. Any help with this will be greatly apreciated. smile.gif

rear is where its at... its drum on an ST and disc on a GT... the front is just a bigger rotor and slightly larger caliper... rear gets a whole new assembly for discs instead of drums (stopping power is greatly increased)

front brakes are interchangeable between ST GT and 7th gen, as you mention, you'll need disc, calipers and pads, that's it

rears you need to upgrade to GT, the 7th gen rear won't fit.

Ohhh really! that's cool. i would guess the logic way to go would be a GT al around wright? I don't know if using 7th gen front setup and 6gen GT rear setup bwould be any better?
