Ok those of a nervous disposition may want to look away as the foloowing mod involves scenes of a disturbing nature!

ok so as part of my idea of wanting the factory fit sound system i ordered a pair of 4" door speaker grills, which duly arrived with one being wrong so i now have to wait for the correct part but none the less i can at least do one side.

so what does £14 buy you these days?

front view of the 4" grill

Rear view

now unfortunately the none live sound Celicas don't have the cut out for the 4"er

so we have to cut it out 'ouch'

anyway once you start there is no turning back

Deleted scene

ok after a few minutes cutting sanding and drilling you end up with this

and the rear view

ugghhhh how she get in there??

anyway you can now fit the 4" grill using 3 self tappers

heres the remains

and fitted to the car

i did buy some 4" speaker mounts but i thought i would just mount the speakers using the grill screws only two of them line up so it only has 2 screws holding the speaker on but you can hold the door card via the speaker magnet and it's solid so will do.

now you can all go out and get cutting!

looks good. you just need the live sound (metal) speaker grille for the lower speaker to match.

NICE man!

I don't think id ever have the heart to cut into my celi like that though.

Is that grille a 2 piece or something? does the inner black piece separate? little confused about that.

great work though!
