IT HAS A LOT OF POWER, and its addicting THe beautiful 3SGTE gives out a lot of power that a FWD celi cant handle. ITs hard to get any traction. All i do it spinn forever, hardly ever move.
I went to the track this passed saturday, the 25th. It was not a good day for me... well i guess ill just put the times and stuff up and you guys be the judge. Just to LET you know i was running w/ KUHMO 711 tires w/ 17's. I should of been in the 13's like everyone says. BAD START 1st - r/t = 1.036, 1/4 = 15.873 vs early 90's RX-7 r/t = 1.276 1/4 = 28.288 haha 2nd - r/t = 1.004, 1/4 = 16.518 vs 97+ HONDA Accord r/t = 1.288 1/4 = 16.886 gets even worse 3rd - r/t = 1.242, 1/4 = 16.812, (ok here i was ready to go home) lost to a Type R, 1/4 = 14.778 JUST WHEN I HOPED THINGS WOULDNT GET ANY WORSE... 4th - r/t = 1.146, 1/4 = 14.234 vs 97+ neon r/t = .824, 1/4 = 14.369 THere was a long break for about 2+ hours for the other categories run, so i went to go celebrate. then we started for another run. 5th - r/t = 1.186, 1/4 = 15.666 vs Don't remember what i ran here... another BREAK... I walked around the show area and i heard the anouncers say that the one of the tire boths was LENDING OUT DRAG TIRES AND RIMS!!!! Sweet so i went to go borrow a pair (Had to leave a credit card and my D.L ). 6th - r/t = .975, 1/4 = 14.629, vs Mazda Miata r/t = .629, 1/4 = 16.098 7th - r/t = .800, 1/4 = 14.395 vs 00+ MR2 spyder r/t = .661, 1/4 = 16.133 8th and final - r/t = .833, 1/4 = 14.320 vs 92 (+/-) INTEGRA GS-r, r/t = 1.235, 1/4 = 16.126 hahahaha Im not sure but i think i later saw this same integra and the R was actually a STICKER Just like a honda owner Well i was kinda satisfied, by the end of the day, but NOT happy. Feel free to say what you want, i know i did bad.. David oh btw- i also got a free dyno, the i got 226hp at the wheel. I guess that isn't good. My times should be lower w/ those #'s |

there are two ways to solve the problem
get an lsd or use that 226whp to pass the other guy after you let them get a little bit ahead. but seriously, just practice. its hard to go from ~95 whp to 226whp -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

226 horsepower at the wheels is awesome! I'm sure that an LSD would help quite a bit like 97sccelica said. Running a 14.2 is still awesome!

You know what... slap on some 14" steelies with slicks and practice your launch a bit more. I honestly think you can get good launches even with 226whp... especially with slicks. And you mentioned 100+ mph trap speeds... you can easily hit high 13's...
Heh... a couple of mid-high 16 runs...even I woulda embarassed ya... ;P |

dont you have the apexi avc-r?
you can set it so it boosts low like 8 psi in first gear then raise it in higher gears that will help the spin. |

Look around for some wider wheels/tires as well. The more rubber on the ground the more traction.

I'm not sure if you've done your suspension as yet. But a nice set of stiff shocks will help. Try Koni yellows. Next get some good tires. I suggest toyo t-1s. If the wallet allows it, and LSD would be a deffinite plus.

I went to the Pomona raceway, this weekend. It was open to the public b/c of the NHRA Pro-sport compact finals. BUT besides that it isnt open to te public, only special events like this one. I've called to ask a couple of times. The other track i go to is the LACR track in Palmdale. Thats NOT a good track to run on. Its at a pretty high sea level. Oh and yes i have a AVC-R, and I'm having A LOT of trouble understanding the damn manual. I know about the LSD but 1st its had to find one for the GT tranny, also i DONT wanna spend all that money then swapping tranny's, which i plan on doing SOON. Thanx a lot guys for te info. Keep it coming, i appreciate all the help. David |

Just learn to control the power and you should be able to get high 13's. You cut more then a second off since the run at palmdale. So after more practice you should be able to get into the 13's .
