The lettering say TOYOTA AISIN. AISIN is a major OEM parts manufacturer for toyota but I cannot find this module on their website.

It is on the bottom left of the photo. The module with the purple dot right next to the alternator belt.

Does anyone have any idea what this module is? Pic included

Yeh its the anti lock brakes, mine doesn't have one cause i don't think the jap import ever had them unlike some of the UK versions. More room for modding in my eyes. Nice clean engine bay though, mine is filthy, what number wrc is it?

it's a Japanese import, but is ABS an option on these car?
I have seen ST205 w/o this module.

Thanks for the help!

A jap import with ABS? i thought none of the jap imports had abs shows what i know. I don't know if it was an option they just made some with abs and some without. In the wet it is a lot better with abs but other than that its fine, in my opionion its just another thing to go wrong, if the sensors go on the abs they are quite expensive to replace. Is your gt4 a wrc?

Mine is not a WRC, but the one in the picture is.

I wonder if anyone with some more history on GT-four could shed a light on this topic.

ABS was standard on the UKDM Celica range as was airbags, I find it strange that these were options on the JDM's. Not sure airbags was an option tho, think they were standard from the facelift GT4's.

yeah it was an option on JDMs. but about the G-sensor feature, not all GT-Fours had them. i remember reading that only certain types had them but i couldn't remember if they were on 96+ gt4's or if it was the wrc's that had them.

From what I've seen some 94/95 JDM GT4s have ABS and others don't.

It's a toyota/nippon denso sports ABS with 6 sensors if that means anything

Thru the entire range of JDM GT4s 1994 - 1998 its very common to see models without air bags. Our '96 SS-III has no air bags and a 3 post wheel, I've seen GT4s as late as 1997 with also no air bags and a 3 post wheel. Our '96 GT4 however has driver and passenger airbags with a fat ugly 4 poster.

Yeh mine is a 95 jdm gt4 with no abs, and im pretty sure it has no airbag even though it says it on the steering wheel but crashed it 2 yrs ago and it didnt go off ha. Also got the 4 spoke steering wheel, i think it was 96 they put projector lights on them and late spec rear lights.

Love GT4 ABS

0-100-0 in 7 seconds - wahhhCHH wahhhhCHHH Clap Clap shudder *HALT*

The pedal feels like the car has lost a huge chunk of metal when that happens/.
