Subaru BRZ Review by "Car And Driver"
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2013-s...st-drive-review I hope those aren't the real numbers because they are disappointing it's as fast as a 2012 FWD Civic Si with the msrp price tag of a WRX but if the frs sells well I'm sure toyota will bring back the supra they need a performance car between the frs and LFA people are getting bored of the corolla/matrix xrs. IMO if you want a new FR car I think a 2012 v6 mustang is a better bang for your buck cost less, more power and has great reviews on it too. -------------------- **If you can read this you are too close**

Buy the BRZ this spring, cause i don't want a crappy scion interior/options, drive for two or three years (the amount of time it'd take to produce a supra), trade in on supra.... /awesomeplan |

My only issue with the interior is the cheap climate control knobs, lack of a push button starter, and the Scion radio which is assumed that you will replace upon buying the car anyway. I've never understood the thought of intentionally putting in a crappy radio on purpose. The last thing I want to do after spending $25k on a new car is spend another $500+ for the radio that was supposed to be in there in the first place.
However, on a separate note, one thing that I do like is that fewer new cars even include ash trays anymore. -------------------- '99 Celica GT - Sold

Meh...not big enough difference for me to care between the two. At least it's a double-din space, a noice receiver will fit in just snugly. The interior seems to have the same metallic accents and red-stitched leather, for the most part, so where's the beef?

Scion air-conditioning is cheap and mechanical.
Subaru has OEM navy and digital /auto climate control. And a host of wonderful switches below it. Also you have to use key in scion. Subaru has keyless ignition! This post has been edited by playr158: Dec 8, 2011 - 11:20 AM |

It's the little things, Ferdi.
You spend that much on a brand new car and you don't want to have a cheap-feeling interior. Most new cars come with some sort of media interface for the head unit. The Scion head unit looks like it's straight out of the 90's. The two reasons why I might buy the Scion over the Subaru are the faux carbon dash accent versus the silver. That and the shifter surround would be the first things to be plasti-dipped. And that a local forum member works for a Toyota Scion dealer near me and he can hopefully get me a deal on a Scion+accessories (since the prices on the Scions will be fixed). Additionally I was told not to expect the release of the Scion until March at the earliest. Toyota is waiting on the US dollar to get a little bit better so they can release the car at a lower cost. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

It's a nice feature to have on a new car, but I rarely use A/C as it is, so do not care.

Yeah, I'm definitely liking the Scoob interior worlds better. The CF trim on the Scion is just too tacky. It'll feel like I bought the car from Dom Toretto.

What actually made me think of Toretto were the torque numbers for this bad boy. So much it can twist the chassis... -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

You guys fail to realize the massive price difference. If it was over A$2,000 difference(which it seems like it will be)I would personally just get the scion.

The interior seems to have the same metallic accents and red-stitched leather, for the most part, so where's the beef? There really isnt much beef. Its the small touches that cheapen the Scion in my eyes. Of course, the Subaru and Scion are targeting a slightly different audience which is reflected in the differences in interior touches. Personally, if I'm spending that kind of money on a new car, I don't want to have to turn around and go replacing the radio because they knowingly put in a crap head unit. However, I know that does typically appeal to the Scion target market. I guess I'm just saying that I may have grown too old for their target market. Im curious what the difference in price will be between the FR-S and the BRZ Limited. -------------------- '99 Celica GT - Sold

Im curious what the difference in price will be between the FR-S and the BRZ Limited. If we're lucky the price difference will be about 3,000 dollars but realistically it'll be closer to 1,500 - 2,000; ie. FR-S at 22k and the BRZ Limited at 24k. While I prefer the Toyota (EDM/JDM)/Subaru interior for the dual zone climate controls and the push to start I much prefer the Toyota/Scion front end so that's what I'm thinking of getting. Just want official pricing... -------------------- Has no more Celicas
