Brakes look superb for the car, but the whole thing just looks so much 'messier' than i hoped it would be from the early concepts

He's one of those people that knows someone, that knows someone, etc. IIRC I got word that WE are only receiving 2 FRS' and 5 BRZ's because of a shipment shortage, this shortage is cause by the HIGH demand in JDM land Perhaps they were part of the initial 86? I wouldnt doubt it This post has been edited by 808celica: Apr 24, 2012 - 3:25 AM -------------------- I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island

my bad man when i posted this was when i found out i just got an email from them today (i registered for updates through the scion site like a year ago get a bunch of junk stuff tho) and like ALL the morning spots were taken there were just spots for 4-5 and 5-6 so i signed up and posted it here. add your name to the waitlist im sure people won't show up and who knows maybe you can still get in i must have just filled up a little bit ago.
and im heading there probably straight after work. saturdays i usually get out at around 2:30 ish so im hoping to get there around 3:30. This post has been edited by spy00005: May 1, 2012 - 1:32 PM -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

thanks i like the concept of the car a lot getting back to its roots, great handling, a car that's just FUN to drive and not needing 1000000000 HP lol def consider getting one down the line making my celica a project car and the FR-S a DD if its better on fuel (prob way down the line though). hey what kinda event is it i know you get to drive it but was it like on a track or course or just like in a little area? like they have a press conference and info or just kinda take it for a spin sort of thing not a lot of info on the site.
and seriously the emailed me at 3am. i got to work at 10 and that's when i read my emails so the event in less than 12 hrs filled up? how many people where at the event that actually got to drive (if you noticed)? how many of the FR-s where there? and what kinda driving did the let you do (obviously no burn outs and drifting i mean more like speeds and cornering driving) This post has been edited by spy00005: May 1, 2012 - 5:00 PM -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

Upon showing up we were asked for our driver's licenses, given armbands as registered drivers, some swag (a Yokohama Wheels catalog, an Enkei Wheels catalog, a Mother's Wax catalog, an official FR-S brochure, and an FR-S hat), and told we could play GT5 on a few PS3s while we waited for the drives to start. Before the drives started we were given an informational session revolving around the car (the basics: engine, HP/torque, weight, design elements, etc.) and a safety briefing about what we could and couldn't do on the course in the cars. I was part of the first group allowed to drive (1PM to 2PM time slot) and there were about 10 of us signed up and we were each allowed one lap on the course due to time constraints; everyone who signed up got to drive once and the event handlers saw we had another 20~30 minutes so they allowed us to each have another run. Guys were doing driver/passenger laps before switching position and also recording their runs. We had a diverse group of owners; a couple of tC drivers, a Gen. Coupe 2.0T, a Golf GTI, a 6th Gen (me), and a couple other commuter cars and everyone who drove the car loved it. They all had smiles on their faces and nothing but a desire to jump back in the car and drive it again...some of us were trying to convince them to let us run again when the 2PM to 3PM group showed up. There were 4 FR-Ss there; 1 Firestorm (Red), 1 Whiteout (White), 1 Hot Lava (Orange), and 1 Raven (Black). All were automatics (they didn't bring any manuals to limit liability) and TCS/SC was left on - they had restrictor plates over the buttons to keep us from disabling the systems. Each car was lowered on TRD springs and equipped with the TRD USA exhaust system while riding on various Enkei wheels (PF01s and RPF1s mostly) on Yokohama S.drive tires. We were allowed to push them as much as we felt we could handle except in the transfer area (where we were limited to ~10MPH) and the last corner where we were instructed to be at walking speed for safety reasons. These rules might be different for your group since the course has to be modified for the location (to avoid poles, medians, etc.). I know I was cautious in my driving but I crested over 60 at least one or twice. awesome info very detailed know what to expect even if its somewhat diffrent and even answered quest i forgot to ask like the m/t or a/t and top speed. if i can get it to 60 ill really feel how it is i normally drive since i commute to work and back doing around 60-65. and when i sat behind the wheel at the NY auto show to me it felt alot like sitting behind the wheel of my celica. just one more thing could you use the paddle shifters the a/t version comes with or is it full auto i mean still great to just get the feel of the car even if its the auto version im def looking forward to it. awesome pics cool vid.
