i wont say its impossible but it will be very difficult to put a blower on the 7A. because the intake is in the back, there isnt much room for one, and the power steering pump is right in the way. Turbo is a much better option

Turbo is a much better option Sure you can, but suggestively speaking, the 4a-gze is the equivalent to a super charged 7a-fe. Your best option to accomidate a supercharge is to use a 4a-ge head; I suggestion this because the 4a has alot of options when it comes to superchargers. Back in the ae86 days they were a dime a dozen. http://www.6gc.net/members/faqdaworld [4a-gze swap] This post has been edited by Mstoochn: Dec 18, 2009 - 4:36 PM |

I think that because of the expense of supercharging an ST, it isn't really going to be worth your time. The gains you'd get by supercharging the 7A are going to be pretty nominal, and considering we're not dealing with a lot of HP to begin with, IMHO it's really not worth the effort if power is your goal. Now if your goal is just to build a fun project, then go for it. Just don't set your sights high in terms of any significant HP gains.
Mstoochn is right, if you're going to supercharge a 7A, your best bet is to retro fit the head with a 4agze head. That will lower compression and net you better gains than just straight up trying to supercharge the stock 7A, although IIRC you will run into some interesting challenges with fitment, and possibly with electronics as well, as I believe the stock 7A ECU won't really do much for you with a charger setup. If you're looking for more power w/an NA setup and you really like the idea of the supercharger, your best option is going to be to just do a straight 4agze swap. Again, for the money though, you'll still net more power by building up the 7A with a turbo application. Or better yet, swap in a 4age head and THEN turbo it (7AGTE). Really, it depends on what your goals and motivation are. -------------------- |

I want supercharged even if I have to make a custom hood with a hole of the size of an open laptop lol, I want some power but also the awesome sound of supercharged cars, what do you guys recomend to get about 70-100 more HP on a stock st? turbo, nitro, supercharge, but affordable I dont want to spend over 10,000 this car lol it would take me years to get more than that.

I dont want to even think of turbos, they blow up way too often for me to get that, thats why I want supercharged even if I have to make a custom hood with a hole of the size of an open laptop lol, I want some power but also the awesome sound of supercharged cars, what do you guys recomend to get about 70-100 more HP on a stock st? turbo, nitro, supercharge, but affordable I dont want to spend over 10,000 this car lol it would take me years to get more than that. u wont make 70-100hp on a stock ST without a turbo, or 4a-ge head + sc or turbo. your powergoals are easily reachable with that budget, but for a third of that cost you can just swap a 3s-gte... starting point at 265whp. cost you around 4k to get someone to do it for u |

Well actually Mstoochn is right here. Assuming someone is going to go through the expense of turbocharging there car, swapping, retrofitting a supercharger, hell even stock 5s or 7a engines!....one thing they all have in common is that the car gets an exhaust system done. So, a STOCK GEN3 with Intake, exhaust, and boost controller makes 265whp at around 14psi.....and 300whp by 17psi. --------------------

Arguing + or - 10-50hp on a turbo car is silly, as the power level can vary that much with just a change in weather, exhaust, boost controller, etc... -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

mistype!
I do belive it's alot less than 241whp.... take into consideration almost 15% power loss thru an AWD trans + rear diff.. maybe 220-225 GO JIMBO! This post has been edited by Mstoochn: Dec 20, 2009 - 9:44 PM |

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!! this engine is beautiful!!!! I wish I had that money right now!!!! hope it will stil be there i 4 months! unless I with the Mega millions!, look at that intercooler and the turbo looks beautyful!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-Celi...sQ5fAccessories , I never thought I would have fallen in love again!! but this engine is just a beauty!!! and directly from japan!, even tho I think it would be easier to fing someone selling a GT-Four, but who could be dumb enough to sell such an Awesome car, I know I wouldnt!, can you guys tell me where can I find one on sale, as long as its from 94+ less than 100,000 miles, and for less than 5000$US, I dont care if its crashed from the side or rear, as long as its driveable and the engine is in perfect ondition +trans. I will fix it! if any of you hear of anyone selling something like that I will buy it but has to be close to NJ or reasonable towing to my father's friend garage. to 07502 PLEASE!!
