I think they need to search all water bodies that this baloon flew over. 6 years old or 26... I think most people subconsciously would have tried to land in water if they did jump.

I think that would be a totally conscious decision, but also a dumb one. Landing in water does no good from that height.

Nevertheless, it's mostly rural farm land, I don't think there's any water.

Yeah,
the kid was fine, he was hiding in the attic. He said, "You told me to do it for the show" (referencing the Father).

I would be angry at them for getting all of the attention and putting people's lives at risk (police, firefighters, everyone that wanted to help) but the father got ratted out by his son on LIVE TV. Nothing is more entertaining then watching someone try to cover their tracks and make an ass of themselves while doing it.

seemed fake from the get go. the kid screwed up and spilled the beans, and you can see the father react in total shock and not know what to do or say next.

Yeah I saw that too. Usually when someone gets caught in a lie they get defensive - hence being "appalled".

Oops: that video of them releasing the balloon which obviously had no child inside. Definitely a hoax.
