Where does everyone get there toyota red antifreeze at?

My local dealer wants 22 bucks a gallon for it. Its not expensive considering you only change it every 100k miles. But I have to maintain 6+ toyota in the family and that is gonna hurt.

So does anyone know where to get some cheap toyota red antifreeze?

Cheap. Toyota. Pick one.

That said, try an online dealer such as 1sttoyotaparts.com, they operate out of a dealership so the parts are OEM but the prices involve less overhead.

i heard car quest has red antifreeze but i'm not sure if it is any good.

I'm not asking for bargain prices on antifreeze, Just cheaper then 22 dollars a gallon. I will be needing around 6 galls taht is over $100 for antifreeze.

Hmm so my coolant is trash? I bought Prestone thinking it didn't matter what you got. A bit late now but would this cause any issues?

You're fine. Standard green coolant is all I ever use.

coolant is coolant.

All it does is:

1) keep different metals from reacting to water causing corrosion.
2) keep water from freezing
3) lubricate the water pump

saying that, there are different schools of thought about the optimum antifreeze formula.

Being a toyota fanboy I like to stick with what toyota engineers come up with.

Got ya. So need to do worry, also might be a little off topic but I've been recommended something called Purple ice. I think thats what I was told don't quite remember, it had something to do with helping with the cooling of your engine. Anyone try this?

keep in mind though that you can buy straight from toyota and then mix it with distilled water 50/50. if you have toyota red then stick with toyota red or flush your system totally then change to green or something else cheaper. mixing coolant chemistrys can cause problems.
