so i have been poking around a while and i was considering doing an exhaust on my car. now if i was going to do this it would mos deff be the whole deal from the manifold back. only question is, is it worth it? its a 7afe but im not sure how restrictive the stock exhaust is. Im really only expecting a couple horse at the most but just wondering if its enough of a difference if i should. if so what size is a good suggestion because i dont want my car to sound like a pissed off chainsaw haha im not in this for the sound so thanks guys smile.gif

You'll see a 5hp gain... maybe. Most likely closer to 3. The amount of money you'll end up spending to get it to be clean (ie. real headers (not ebay), enlarged piping to 2.25, new resonator, new muffler, new hi-flow cat) will outweigh the extra horsepower.

That being said, the Rippmods header definitely livened up my powerband, and the greddy SP2 sounds nice and deep.

They don't currently, but they made them in the past. I have a set that's installed right now.

headers are just metal piping. They are not technogically advanced like an ECU although optimal design does count, but ebay headers will definitely help a little but not a lot. Same thing as intakes they are really all the same.

No, you will be lucky to gain 3 hp, besides if it's a cat back you don't want anything bigger than 2.75 in atmost, but there is no magic exhaust unless your running straight pipes and a high flow cat maybe
10 hp extra

Worthless, don't bother with the catback or headers. Just slap on the fart canon muffler and it will sound a little better. Better yet get yourself a magnaflow of flowmaster muffler and it will sound much better and at least people with honda wont rev at you all day.

For your motor NA stick to a 2.25 piping at the most.

There is a difference in build quality. There have been stories about the ebay headers cracking over time, or welds becoming weak. The pattern at which it connects to the dump pipe is also slightly altered. While I agree that both will offer more or less the same added flow, I don't believe that ebay headers are the way to go for quality, but for cheap performance they can't be beat.

Honestly, if you were a stickler for performance you wouldn't go with either, but rather make your own with a mandrel bender, and work on a custom 4-2-1 downpipe. But getting access to a mandrel bender is near impossible.
