AlriGht I posted this in the forced induction forum and got denied so I will expand my audience.
I HAVE: -stock 5sfe complete engine runnin in the car -stock gen2 3sgte head -itb setup off of a 2002 gsxr 750 what I want: - na application - itbs -reliable moderate hp - daily diven -stock bottom end Do you guys think this will be possible? Along with using the 5sfe CPU with possibly safc. -------------------- Coming in 2010 full paintjob - new wheels - modified body - new interior - engine build- marriage |

you'll need more than an SAFC to make it work...the 3sgte head is doable but probably won't really help all that much...

um.... forged internals on a gen3 head with 8.5:1 comp i pulled 207 WHP on a 5s-ge its diificult tho.. you need the 3s ecu or ems + 3s wiring harness

um.... forged internals on a gen3 head with 8.5:1 comp i pulled 207 WHP on a 5s-ge its diificult tho.. you need the 3s ecu or ems + 3s wiring harness it would be Cheaper to run a 3s-ge lol. 8.5:1 isn't going to make HP in NA form...you need to be like >9.5:1 at a minimum.. Along with using the 5sfe CPU with possibly safc. Sorry guy... probably not gonna happen. The 3SG head mated with the 5SFE pistons is gonna LOWER compression by a lot. Reason being, the FE pistons in the 5S and 7A are dished and serve as partial combustion chambers, where as pistons in a performance oriented 3SGE will be domed to maximize compression. There is simply no way to build anything with significant power n/a without increasing the compression ratio to at least the 10:5 range. That's not even mentioning the 5S's rods, which will need to be upgraded to maintain reliable revs above 7000 rpms... and no... you're not going to make power without increasing the rpm threshold. Also... why motor cycle itbs, which require significant modifications rather than something like 4AG 20V itbs, which require a bit less... again, back to what I said about revs. ITB's are designed to maximize airflow at high rpms... think above 7000. In anything that operates much lower than that, they'll be more of a hinderance, especially considering tuning. All depends on what you're looking for... but IMO... no 5SGE is going to outperform a 3SGE stock for stock. Why put in all of that money when simply dropping in a BEAMS will make significantly more power and be much cheaper and more reliable?
