ok i'm thinking of changing my timing belt and my clutch pretty soon. and i wanted to get an idea of how much they would cost.. like how much would timing belt replacement be with labor and how much would clutch be with labor also. and another question. any reference as to what brand of clutch i should get?. im not tuning my car performance-wise or anything so i was thinking a low-end kind would be sufficient. thanks in advance for all the help guys

Oem is always good. I know Exedy makes a oem replacement clutch and many others.
As far as timing belt replacement maybe like 400-500. I'd assume wherever you take it will want to put a water pump on it too which is never a bad idea. Maybe 300 with labor for the clutch. I'm just taking these numbers off the top of my head from jobs that i have done similar to the 7a. Prob would be good ball park figures though. -------------------- 2nd Gen 3s-gte.... It lives!

Ok thanks for the info. I was thinking that Clutch replacement was going to be more expensive than the timing belt. i guess not

timing belt takes a bit more time to get all the timing down correctly. Dropping the tranny in a manual FWD car is usually not to difficult. Keyword on usually

here is some food for thought. and i know this is a different engine, but i just did the timing belt and clutch and flywheel on my dads 1MZ Solara. for doing both jobs, i highly recommend just pulling the engine and tranny together. this way everything is out and easily accessible. i had the engine out in 3 hours, parts replaced in 2, and back in the car running 4 hours later. so 9 hours total with food breaks.

Agreed. While the motor is out you can replace most of the gaskets and seals. Assuming the engine internals are healthy.
