Yo!

I'm confused... in this forum, there a lot of information about 3SGTE Swap from an AT200 or STXXX, but nobody have a walktrough or someting like that...

So, there my plan for the swap, and I need your opinion to correct me if i'm wrong...

I have a AT200 Manual.

First Plan:
- Take 3SGTE from a celica GTfour 1990-93 with tranny
- Find an ECU(or maybe use an Halteck Module.. but this a lot of money...)
- I have a friend to do the wiring
- Tranny... well, this the problem! Witch one use? the 7AFE tranny is useless, I need to change it... but for witch one? Someone said to use the GT, but other people said is not enought tought...maybe with clutch kit? Some other People Talk about the MR2 XX-153(sorry, dont remember the letters) with part of the GTFour clutch /tranny..

This plan have two problems; find an ECU, and the overcost of bought another tranny, so I get 3 tranny(GtFour, 7AFE, GT or MR2)!

Second Plan:
- Take 3SGTE from a MR2 1990-94 with tranny
- Find an ECU(or maybe use an Halteck Module)
- I have a friend to do the wiring
- Tranny... well, this the problem! use the MR2 tranny(sorry, dont remember the letters) who come with the motor(but I'M not sure that is the right one-xx-153)
or bought an GT tranny

With this second plan, I Hope to save Tranny...

So, witch plan is the more realistic and cost effective? Where I Can find 3SGTE ECU for a resonable price(don't say Ebay, I've already watched...) How to convert or find a "/%&/"* tranny ?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're better off doing the first option, and then using a tranny from an ST202/3/4/6/7/8. You'll save money over the second option.

Also, most of the time, when you buy your engine and tranny, you'll also get the ECU. Just ask to get the ECU. Also, most people will suggest buying a clip so that you've got everything you need.

Youd be best to get a front clip of an all-trac celica. Then there is an ecu. Then you could get your hands on a Celica GT or a camry/solara 5 spd transmission. I wouldnt go anywhere near the mr2 stuff unless you are very good at fabricating. There IS a walk-thru on qatar11's webpage, www.topshelfracing.com . click on project celica.

...about the tranny...

I search over the Province of Quebec and find nothing about a GT 94-99 tranny...
But, I saw on the web last night that the celica ST184 and camry 92-97 V6 use the same motor as Celica GT 94... Does is the same Transmission? Could I use a tranny from Celica 91-93 GT? This should be easier to find...

tanx guy for the information!

I don't think 5th gen would work, just use a 6th gen GT tranny, I am pretty sure you can find it easily.

Check out taprecycling.com, Qatar reccomends it on his website

The other trannies are kinda hard to come by in america, but maybe in canada not sure, since it was kind of rare to see manual camrys and solaras

Or you can try to find the 5SFE engine and fine the tranny for that if you can't find the GT.

Also there is a lot of info in this forum if you do the search that should have clarified most of your confusion since I searched for hours and found great info.

ALso i talked to people in canada and they got the Celica GT also in other countries to....so just look harder

Oh...you are going to need axles to since the 7AFE axles don't fit in any tranny that fits on the 3SGTE or you can fabricate stonger axles.
