not a ford guy by any means...more like a die hard chevy guy...and of course a toyota enthusiast...but i always, since i was little, loved the fox body style Stangs.......so i bought one about a month ago...CHEAP

i went down and took a look at it...didnt look too bad just really dirty, car started right up, ran good, but needed a few little things, nothing costly though. the only real problem the car had was that it would bog out when you gave it a little too much gas. I took a look at the carb and it was a edelbrock 750 cfm...WAY to big...so i picked up a 600 from my buddy, put it on in the pouring rain last friday night, and the car ran freakin awesome.

basicaly its an 89 with an 85 5.0 carburated motor swap. The car was oroginally a 4 cyc. car, and the LX body style makes them the lightest of the mustangs. No ground effx. no fog lights, none of that bullcrap. 5 speed. black on Red.

next up for it is an 8.8 posi, and eventually i would like to pick up a set of gt40 heads and cam the bittch.

heres a couple pics, and of course 2 vids of me driving it the way it should be driven... biggrin.gif

Her first wash..

I know people are big on that fox body style but as someone who lived through that the first time around and remembers those things vividly, I have to say that I think that thing is ugly as HELLLLLL. I thought they were ugly as sin when I was 15 and I think they're even uglier now that they're old and have been ridden hard and put up wet. lol

Obviously that's just my opinion though; for real I'm happy for you and hope you enjoy it!

i am glad i am not the only one to think that. why are they call fox body?

But you have to respect how light they are and how much power they have under the hood.

Hahaha I beat a Fox body 5.0 Mustang at the dragstrip in my truck once (Don't ask why I was running my 5.9 liter Dodge Ram at the drag strip.)

One of my friends used to have an '89 Mustang, 4 cylinder turbo. I have to say, it was meannnnn..... He has an '03 Cobra now. Meanerrrrrrrrrr....... I don't have respect for most Mustangs or Mustang owners. But they do have potential. Enjoy thumbsup.gif

I used to think or be that way, but I always meet Mustang guys in town and they are always nice to me. One of them has a Cobra and none of the import guys really want to mess with him, and you would expect him to be cocky, but he is a really cool guy. Seems to not have to brag, as he is just very sure of himself. I got Ford guys all day at my school, they have nothing really bad to say about Toyota, but you mention Chevy around them? Oh wow....... LOL Then it's on.

mustang reminded me of an idiot the other day...

me and my friend were about to drive back to SD after buying the crx. we were on a stop and this mustang next to him was revving and revving and it seems like he wants to race the newly acquired car. stoplight turned green, my friend and i accelerated slowly but the mustang takes off and at the end he ends up fishtailing rolleyes.gif

i had a facepalm... i just dont get why do that if you cant control the car kindasad.gif

sadly, he didnt spun out... i woulda LMAO

Its not so much the idea of power but the idea of having that thing pull up to you or drive near you. I know people who have cranked out like a cajillion horse power out of these things and 5.0 mustang sounds like you are about to suffer eminent doom but err... they all look like they are about to fall apart and that is why whenever I see one of these cars I stay well the hell away.

Those were one of the most ugliest cars cars that weren't even aero dynamic and in terms of suspension I hear they sucked worst then cow nuts. But I do like the fact that its a 5.0 in a little car and someday when i get my hands on one of these im go turbo.
