anything in particular to do to release the pressure, is the stuff recyclable ?

or just like that?

you have to evac the system... its kind of toxic... and u will have to refill the system.

While I wouldnt consider 134 toxic, EPA [retty much hates it when you evac it into the atmoshpere. A evac and fill really shouldnt run that much money (unless you plan on doing this all the time), you could get the gauges and tank though. Changing the compressor or something?

it really bad for the atmosphere and if you get it on your skin it can cause frost bite. But beside that i would not openly inhale it or release the r134a in a closed room for safetly precautions. There is no real for the average consumer to evac the system. The only way i found recycle the r134 is to take it to a shop with a special machine. They then sell you your r134 back to you at retail price, so its kind of a scam.



If you plan on removing the hoses, you will need a pump to put a vaccum on the system before refilling so its quite a indept job, that and you need to refill the ac compressor back with the right amount of oil.
