Hey everyone, I had a Jeep Wrangler. Every time I would pass another Wrangler the drivers would wave to each other...........
Well..... I was thinking about making a Celica greeting. Everytime you see a celica thats you pass either side of the road I think we should hit our hazard lights as a greeting Make owning a celica like a brotherhood Not to many 94-99 Celicas around We should throw up some kind of sign of respect for owning a rare car IMO I dont know this is just a thought that I had .............. hope it could one day catch on What do you guys think of this idea? defgeph -------------------- I will return one day. |

Because celica's are still relatively high priced, 80% of the people in 6g's around here are 20 years older than me, so you just get weird looks / abuse if you flash lights or smile.
LOL! |

I'd have a hard time with that. There's a 5th gen on my street at my dad's and a 6th gen on my street at my mom's, both red. I'd have to do it almost everyday lol.. aside from them though, there's 4 more within a 5-mile radius that I've stalked home or seen out driving. I followed a nice clean black one home the other day, they pull over and get out (I was hanging a ways back), and it was this really hot chick. I was like I'm so going to stalk this chick everyday..

I wave and put a thumbs up to each 6gc I pass (tons in the LA area). Some respond, some stare like I'm a luni I think people might see it as some sort of Gang affiliation if there was a hand gesture though

its just the difference between having just any old car and an enthusiast car, its all in the community surrounding it.

Wow, funny you should mention this.....
So last week, i was just crusing around after getting gas and i pulled into a town near me and i saw a white celica that was really clean looking, so naturally i put down the window and waved like a lunatic. But the lady driving it was older, but she waved back just as excited to see another 6th gen...i thought that mutual respect was pretty cool. Also, i was going through that same town this weekend and there was a black 94 or 95 celica with nice rims and an exhaust right behind me this time and was stalking me! I was with my girlfriend though, so i had to contain my excitement alot....lol....but now i know where they live, so thats a total of 2 other 6th gens that i know i can find again. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

6th gens sound a lot more common around you guys. I have only seen 2 EVER driving around my town. One was a white coupe, and the other a black vert. And the coupe has since disapeared. and I live in a pretty big town.

Why not just wave?
I drive a wrangler now (its my sisters, and i'm driving it while the swap is underway) and people do the wave thing all the time, usually i just nod... I dont like to be distracted while driving, occasionally i'll wave or something, but I'm not really into that... I still think Jeeps are ****ty vehicles, offroad capable yes, but still crummy workmanship all the way round, better than most Domestic cars tho. In fact the first car i drove was a jeep cherokee, and that has about 210,000 miles on it, and still going pretty strong. We use that as a work vehicle / winter car now. Anyway, why not just wave? It works... -------------------- AIM : FAQdaWorld

i rarely see any 6gc's in my town, except when college lets back in (wku hometown). i havent seen any other celica modded up except for lets of 7gc and 5gc. i occasionally nod or wave to them just bc they support toyota, now for the camrys, i look the other way lol

Well...
...That says TRD. I looked it up. Also, no offense to handicapped people in any way. I was just trying to be creative. |
