Rust around hatch glass, Mine's getting worse Options

So I was looking at my car the other day. Ever since I bought it there's been some rusting spots around the hatch glass where it looks like the glass wasn't sealed right when the window was replaced. Now there's white lines coming out from the rusting spots, similar to white crease type lines you get when you bend plastic. I've detailed cars for a living and briefly done paint work, but never seen anything like this. Anything I could do to try to prevent the rust from spreading more? Or should I just leave it since I'm just going to drive the car until it dies?
