Ok ... you guys know how the GT4 hoods have the round opening right. Well, for all of you that have seen that terrible movie called 2 Fat 2 Flurry (aka 2 Fast 2 Furious) and remember the Skyline in the beginning with all that fake nitrous. Anyway .. about the fake nitrous. Remember when he sprays the nitrous out the side of the bumper while goin up to the line. Ok now ... hookin up the spray up to the opening on the hood (I know the possibilities for this are probably not existent) and sprayin while sittin at a stop light next to some punk ... would be really really cool wouldn't it? I know I'd be kinda scared if I was the guy next to me and I saw spray shootin out the hood. What do you guys think of this crazyness. Oh and in case you feel like flaming ... I don't care ... go for it. Say what you have to say.

It could be done. You'd need to just position a nitrous purge valve to spray out the vent in the hood. I've seen a couple cars in person with these purge valves, and they're pretty cool looking.

I'm not sure on this, but I think nitrous oxide is pretty cold, and it might be harsh on that plastic grill and weaken it if it's too cold.

it does look cool, but its a waste of nitrous imo.

you can get the same setup but hook it up to a bottle of co2. it would look the same and sound the same but be a lot cheaper.

Yea ... you guys got your points. I just mentioned it for the simple idea. I'm not truly considering ever doing this ... but I just thought it'd be a bad ass idea.

better yet have it blow out the side so when you pull up to some punk you could freeze his tires and his launch would be all screwed up. no that wouldn't be nice. biggrin.gif sorry i've been up for to long.....

when nitrous is purged it is in gas form so it blends into the air almost instantly. it wont ruin plastic of the hood vent unless it is very very thin plastic. nitrous will not go on your paint unless you angle it to.

everyone does know the only effective thing in nitrious is Oxygen right? Since when has oxygen been dangerous to plastic, or paint?

Oxygen itself isn't harmful. Freezing cold oxygen can be. wink.gif

I'm not exactly sure how cold nitrous oxide is when it's purged, but I'd imagine that it's pretty cold. If it's cold enough, it could make the plastic very brittle and prone to breaking.

There is actually a reason to purging. When someone sprays a certain amount of nitrous, some is still left in the line. When a person 'purges', they clear out what was left and the various captured air bubbles in order to get a cleaner spray when they go to use it.

Someone feel free to correct me if I didn't explain that clearly enough. smile.gif

how thin is the material? plastic molecules are not prone to become brittle from freezing. its like throwing your keyboard in liquid nitrogen and taking it out, the plastic will remain the same(not suggested). it will break if pressure is applied but where the vent is at on the hood there should be no worries.

oxygen is actually the part that burns hotter, for anyone who welds with oxy/acetelyne the acytelyne is the main orange flame and the oxygen is what burns hotter and when used as a cutting torch the oxygen is mixed higher then the acytelene
