yeah cause celicas are the bomb! When i bought my car i got so many lookers, and my friend hated me cause i bought his dream car, lol a week ago he came up to me wanting to buy it still and i told him no... I love my car, i'd choose it over any of the new cars, i mean for real my car gets just as good as gas mileage as the new 2010.

It's true. I know i only fill up once a week (if that) and do quite a bit of driving. It's nice isn't it? Upgrade those spark plugs, clean air filter(short ram for fun), good tune and solid tires... My OBD1 makes 15 years of research and Tech advancements in Emissions and fuel economy seem like a waste of time... laugh.gif

i know. i love american cars always have, but i mean if you think about it foreign cars have been getting better gas mileage, and just as much power for at least 20 years whereas american ford, and chevy are just getting to that stage of intelligence, its pathetic to. I mean you think about it we use to be the smartest richest country in the world and then last year, we were broke, car businesses disappeared left and right, but toyota, nissan and honda are doing great, especiall with the new toyota scion tc, i see those everywhere..

For me, the 6th gen Celica was my dream car since it came out. Honestly, it was a car I thought was impractical, and bad in the snow like any other sports car. When I got married we needed a second car, and I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I was looking on eBay for cars and saw the little white Celica I ended up purchasing and said "Oh my God, I remember that car, I always wanted that and it's in the perfect color!" (of course it needed repairs, paint, ect.. but I was in love). It was barely over 2k with no non-surface rust.

After buying and restoring the car, I've realized the damn thing almost does as well as my Prius for gas mileage (I fill up once a week), had obviously much more horsepower and is a beast in bad weather and wind (I never feel the wind blow.. even with 50+mph winds). I know a lot of people say it's under powered, but it's the fastest car I've owned, and honestly I don't know if I'd want more horsepower.

Not only is it reliable but it's easy to work on. Unlike my Prius, I can change out a headlamp in my car! I know that sounds like an everyday thing, but it costs over 750 to replace your bulbs in the Prius because you have to take off the front bumper to do it, and over 500 if you have your own bulbs! ....yea... stupid.

Anyway, I think people are now realizing spending 20-30k on a new car is ridiculous and have searched out used cars because of the economy as well. Also, I bought my Prius (highest package) at just under 30k!!! It's not even worth 12k now, and it's only 2 years old. What a rip!!!!

When you have such a reliable, fun car such as the Celica, it's hard to not realize why the attendance of this site has grown.

i don't think the 6gc will die out anytime soon. i mean, with more people selling their 6gc giving the impression that people are getting tired of their cars and looking for something 'better', there will always be buyers who become new members and rekindle the excitement the previous owner once had.. we all lose interest in something after some time.. especially because we're all aging and our priorities change or maybe because we can afford to buy newer cars. but it's basically an ongoing cycle which will continue until all 6gc's end up at the wrecking yards.

I whole heartily agree with most of the above stated! Y'all have no idea how much I want my 6gc, it's a true working man's car!

I've allways liked the way celica's looked but when i got my drivers license i hadn't got the money for one so bought a nissan instead.
After a year and a half the rust started to appear everywhere on that car so i was looking to get another car.

But i work at toyota as mechanic and another mechanic at work had a 4th, 5th and 6th gen celica and he told me how much he love'd to drive them.
So started searching on internet and found my car wich originally comes from italy, it's a 1.8 with airco i think that's pretty rare around here.
Can't seem to find a lot of 1.8's around here with a/c.

After 14 days i own it for a year and i still love it everytime i drive it. smile.gif

Hope i haven't bored you all laugh.gif

I remember when i bought my car, i always drove buy it down the street for like 4 years, and then finally he wanted to sell it and i was the first person to even talk to him about it, i bought it and about the first week this guy walked by it and was like wow thats a beautiful car and i was like thank you and he was like is it for sale i need a car for my daughter and i was like nope sorry lol. then my parents want to buy my car and i was like uhh never i love my car too much, this girl was telling me its the fastest car she's ever been in and i laughed a little, but i felt so superior, i would choose my car anyday over a honda or a nissan ive seen too many of those in my town and my car its just like maybe 3 times a week i'll see one. 6GC all the way!!!!
