What boggles my mind is how do people like you find other people to sell them a car for so cheap. Every time I looked, every time I spent hours, weeks, months to find myself something used (even if completely broken)... the original owner always wanted like an arm and a leg for whatever it was that I was looking for.

My co-worker for example has a 25th anniversary 6gc with almost 300,000 miles on it.. barely working... gnawned through by her dogs... covered in the scratchiest scratches ever... and she still does not want to sell it even for a 1000 dollars which is probably 9 times more than her car is worth...

Good buy mate. Make sure the frame is not bent

The wheels, leather seats, ect all cost more than that easily. You could make a killing on this if you parted it out haha. Even with the destroyed engine, it's still a great start. It seems like what you have to replace are the easy parts (fender and bumpers are easier than the back quarter panel per say). Good luck, and make a work in progress thread for us to follow.

Well he was asking 350 for her but I talked him down. I'm hoping to knock out the quarter instead of replacing it. I will see tuesay when I get her to my shop. I've been looking for a celica project car for a while and was talking to my buddy about it then I decided to go on line and check the local listing and there was the add. Just put up u guess the car was made to be mine. Lol. I'll post more pics tuesday.

Well i got the car to my dads shop today and started working on her. THe quarter panel on the driver side i should be able to fix. i went to the junk yard to day and picked up a passenger fender, new fuel door, inner door sill, passenger tail light, driver seat ajustment knob, and a few other odds and ends for about 50 bucks. i took some pictures of her and i really didnt get much done, i cleaned the inside and took of the old fender, bumber, headlights, radiatior, and ac and alternator off. hopefully i will be able to get out there soon to try and get the engine out. and on a off topic does anyone know anything about the top, i tried to put it down using the switch but the motor spins and dont catch the gears on either side. it works fine in manual mode. here are some pic.

$150?!?! Not bad at all! I thought I was doing good when I got my last one for $300! If you feel the need to give this car up, I'll give you $250 for it tongue.gif

Good luck fixing everything up! I can't wait to see the progress on this car.

engine in the car before i ripped her out

nice hole in the block. straight though. tore down the motor and all pistions exect one were broke

dirty engine bay

after pressure washing and degreasing. now she just has to be prepped for paint

took all the old loom off and tape

new tape and loom

Ill have more pic next tuesday. i should have the bay painted along with the underside of the hood and deck lid. also going to put some 5g mirrors on since i have a parts car out back. ill get some pic of the pistons on tuesday also to show you guys, when this thing went it must have made a hell of a noise. enough to even break the ac compessor right off its bracket and put a big hole in the side of the compessor. keep watching more to come

Yeah, his name is Stanley. I loved that dog with all my heart, but he recently died because of a rolled stomach I didn't catch in time. That was easily the worst thing that ever happened to me lol, worse then any family death. But that's a downer to think about, that dog and I had some crazy great times. Perfect dogs in my opinion, every square inch about him was pure awesomeness!

Right now my baby is my signature. I got her because of a long and complicated story, but she is the gem of life right now. Super super annoying, but I love her to death.

haha that would be sweet if I was in your situation.

If I can make a suggestion since we are already off topic smile.gif. If you ever are looking for a Bull Terrier, try rescueing one. I rescued my dog and he was absolutely perfect! I didn't have to train him much, the only thing I had to train him was in fun things like playing fetch and chewing on toys, more importantly I trained him to sit still when I petted him instead of running around lol. Never had to poop or pee train him. It's a lot cheaper and they already come with shots and a neautering. Just a suggestion smile.gif.
