Hey ... I hear a lot of great reviews with TRD equipment , does it match up with Tein ss coil overs
TRD lowering spring with a bilsten strut or KYB would match up performance too a Tein SS ?? |

Without having tried either (I have a brand-new box of Eibach Sportline springs, which are the equivalent of TRD, sitting in my closet), I'm going to say that the coilovers are most likely better. You'll be able to go lower, therefore have better handling, and they're probably also stiffer. However, they're much more expensive.
That's just my n00b guess. -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

My understanding is that full coilovers are supposed to be better than springs. If you're comparing TEIN springs to Eibach (TRD) springs, spring-to-spring they're comparable in quality, their differences are a matter of what you're trying to get out of them. IIRC TEINs are a little stiffer and lower than Eibach/TRDs, but a quick search on this site can confirm that.
But if you're comparing TEIN coilovers vs springs, there are other coilovers to consider as well if you're going to go that route. Search the site for various opinions and experience with them, quite a few people on here have them. -------------------- ![]() |

coilovers are better than a lowering spring. coilovers serve form and function. springs mainly serve form. with a spring you will have a lower ride height... with coilovers you will have a lower ride height as well as dampening controls. tein are supposed to be the best. there are plenty of good brands though.

It really depends on what you want.
Before I had coilovers, I had TRD springs and KYB Excel shocks on my four. It was great and a an improvement from stock being lowered and 20% stiffer. I could use it on a daily drive and in the in the city. My only issue was that when entering a bend hard and fast, the outside front wheel arch would rub if I was to turn on a load. I had 17's supertourismo's with 45 profiles which was normal. I then went coilovers which was alot more flexible because it's adjustable. Though I have it set on med/soft quite similar to having shocks and springs, I was quite happy using it in the urban city. At the same time it only takes a few seconds for me to set it to track use. If you want to just change springs and shocks, then I'd say get the Tein springs. If you have more of a budget, then go coilovers. |

honestly springs usually feel better, coilovers although there is damper and adjustability, seems to be more stiffer spring rate anyways plus coilovers are much compressed and narrow, less play than springs.
