If you guys want, post one that's under 25k...then another one if you had like 35k to spend, because I know there's like the WRX/Evo in that next step up. Please vote and give reasons...I will base my decision on what you guys tell me.

I like Jettas, even though it's essentially turned into a "girl's car."

I would have said Mazda but for some strange reason my family doesn't have good luck with mazda cars... we tend to filp them crash them or get them stolen.. so i chose the SRT-4 power + price really hard to beat that..

I agree. I ddidn't know it had a ford (Fix Or Repair Daily) engine in it though. Why would they do that? |

In the 25k range I would probably say the Matrix XRS(awd).
I know it's a sports wagon, but it's still got 4 doors. It lists at 19,265(probably around 23k at the dealer) and there is already a turbo kit out for that engine since the Celica GT and MR-S share the 1zz as well. If you step up to 35k, the 4 door Infiniti G35($29,850 with the 6speed), or the Lexus IS300(5spd is $29,980). The G35 shares most of it's features with the 350z, but has the comfort of 4 doors. And the Lexus is just a damn nice car(with the 2JZ-GE, NA Supra engine). |

Hey , if goign between just them go for the mazda speed, it has the most options and would be the best pics, the srt dodge is hot, has everything you ned an runs 14 1/4 mile stock.... but dodge are junk, if your looking for a nice car like you said a little higher, go with like The 2004 A4 1.8 T starting at $25,940*, or one of my favorite all times, bmw... the 325i is only 27800, and that would give you the best performance and last the longest..... I just had my 91 525i totaled, i still have it an runns great not a single oil leak or a single prob with 160k on it

I picked the mazda 6. It's pretty cool looking car for the price. But for a little more money i would but an Acura TSX. They are awesome and fast cars.

You get what you pay for man, theres a reason american cars are cheaper, and for that same reason they lose their value so quickly. They are made quickly and with little regard for quality. I was just looking at the site for the dodge srt-4, one part says 215hp and 245lbs of torque, and the other says 230hp and 250lbs of torque, which is it? They can change the name and put a cheap lip kit on it, but its still just a neon. This post has been edited by Uppitycracker: Nov 3, 2003 - 7:12 PM |

the lower figures are for the 03, the 04 has more power.. and yeah i picked the srt-4 for the power it puts out for 20 g. nothing comes even close in terms of speed to that car for that kind of money- drive on like i did and be wowed.. and even though it is a doge and junky- the powertrain is coverd for 7 years or 70,000 miles- so you are safe to drive it hard and not worry about paying for it nown the road unless you want to keep it forever... -------------------- Car #3: 98 Accord LX- purchased 5/06, totaled 8/06
Car #2: 95 Celica GT- purchased 8/03, current daily driver Car #1: 01 Focus ZX3- purchased 5/01, sold 8/03 |

dodge really isn't that bad. The only problem is it's a dodge, you know?
It's cheap because it's not subject to the tarrifs and such that I believe are applied to the prices of all imported cars. Plus, the dodge owned the mazdaspeed on the road course. The mazda might corner better, but there is no substitute for that kind of WRX bashing power. Oh yea, and DOWN WITH THE FOCUS! |

Anyone I know with an american car has nothing but problems, especially a neon. The mazda is meant to mix economy with sport, not **** quality with power that will fail after a year. Go onto consumerguide.com, then look at any american vehicle and check out the recalls and problems, then go under a japanese vehicle and do the same, thats more then enough proof. |
