Shortly my celi will be complete once I get going on converting to AWD, tranny installed and waiting for the rear subframe and diff. (hence st204.5)
I've already picked up a nice set of 16x7' of Lightweight Konig Rims: but now im at a lost for what rubber I want to put on them, my existing rims for my pre-turbo'd/converted car were 15x7 with proxy 4 all seasons which i will use on this car in the winter. For the rest of the year I want a reason tire but cant chose if I want a semislick or a road going tire thats decent in the rain... Please don't turn my thread into a dick measurng competition about how traction is not an issue in an AWD car My choices thus far: (size 225/50VR16 or 225/45R/16) Potenza Re-11's http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...l=Potenza+RE-11 Potenza SO-2's http://www.tyretown.com/1100_bridgestone/potenzaso2.htm Toyo R888's http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?tirebran...del=Proxes+R888 |

the so'2 look like they'd be pretty good in the rain. It's really what you wanna spend. I have falken azenis on my celica. After a summer of driving/autox they are pretty close to the wear marks. Maybe try to get a set of dd tires and than the set for weekend driving.

get BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW. they offer really good grip in dry and rainy conditions, but have relatively soft compound giving it that more 'rubber' feel unlike those ziex tires that kinda feels like plastic.

The Dunlop Z1 Star Spec's or the RE-11's would be great.
The Advan Neova AD08's are excellent but quite a bit more money. The Falken Azenis's are cheap and still have very good grip, but not as good as the above. The KDW NTs won't have the traction of the above, but will last longer. The R888s are actually a race tire, not a summer tire. They are legal on the street but won't last long at all. |
