I've got an OEM 4 spoke wheel out of my '94 with the airbag, undeployed, both in EXCELLENT condition if you're lookin' to buy. Did the yelli celi have cruise control? I've got the cruise stalk, too. Currently it's in my car, but I have the replacement stalk for it now, which I'm endeavoring to swap out tomorrow anyway. Motivate me. smile.gif

I sure hope someone gets that car away from that idiot. A few month back he was trying to trade it for any turbo'd car he could find. A buddy of mine almost got it in a straight up trade for a 91 gsx LMAO. Good luck and cannot wait to see it back into great shape and some photos. Then once I get all my winter damage taken care of we can maybe have dueling yellow celi photos smile.gif

Michelle - all of the ABS wiring is gone from the car, and cruise control was removed when the 20V was swapped in initially, so a wheel with an airbag is as useless as a racing wheel in the event of a crash. Shoot me a price though.

Lazurus - I'm not sure all of the damage to the car was caused by this kid. I believe it was mostly caused by the kid I sold it to - vaughnz. As for the stereo being stolen and whatnot, he says he didn't lock it up and it was broken into with no forced entry. Replacing the steering wheel is understandable, as the car is hard to turn and the old wheel was flimsy. Whether or not the grant wheel was installed just as a functional replacement, or if he thought it looked good would be a good question.

Once I get it (provided I get it) and replace some parts we will all need to do a PNW meet so the Yelli Celi can be reaquainted with the community.

Wow, this thread is actually turning out to be a good one. I saw "The Yelli Celli is for sale again" and my first thought was who cares? It'll be for sale 30 more times and there will be a thread for it every single time. But that doesn't appear to be the case at all! Good luck today!

I'll be down there at 11:00 today (PST of course). I'll be updating this either on location or once I get home. Michelle and I are going to meet up and take some pictures as well.

Greetings from the Denny's in Kelso, WA

So I met the guy at 11:15. Right away I was able to sum it all up - disappointed.

Let me list my findings:

- Front bumper has very little paint left.
- Passenger side skirt is MISSING
- Cobwebbed paint on the hood, back and front bumpers
- Dash is cracked
- CD player was stolen, console trim is fubar'd
- Ashtray missing
- Amp and sub were stolen from the back
- Alarm doesn't work anymore
- Driver side window WAS smashed in. Brand new window with no tint.
- Owner prior to this guy "installed turbo pistons and cams" with no documentation
- Driver side front splitter is trashed
- Tag inside the door from DOT says the car has been inspected by State Patrol and has a rebuilt title - yet the actual title has no brands on it?
- Paint is completely faded. Super light yellow paint now.
- Typical cam tick that 20V's do, but a little louder than I remember
- Needs new clutch
- Burns a quart of oil every 800ish miles
- All of the front end body panels are misaligned. The hood is rubbing the drivers side fender, the passenger fender has been pushed in, making it look like the door is protruding out.

I don't know what to say. I WISH I could say the car was in okay condition and I'm driving it home now, but I can't. I honestly had to walk away and reassess the situation. I want this car SO BAD, but it needs a LOT of work. It needs a complete paintjob, and new lip kit. DoGGy's TRD skirts would need to be replaced - and where are you going to find those?

I offered the kid $2,000, but I don't know... It needs about $3000+ in repairs just to get it to a good starting point. There is something wrong with the motor too. I know 20V's have no torque, but I couldn't get the motor over 6,000 RPM. It just struggled.

All in all I am really disappointed. The kid didn't disclose A LOT of information about the car, and now here I sit - eating my Meat-Lover's Trio and drink my cherry limeade and sulk in utter disbelief. I slept very little last night in anticipation of driving it back home. I got my hopes up, only to be let down.

Sorry 6GC, but Bonnie and I are going to have to think about this purchase. I snapped some pictures that I will post when I get home, so you can see the state of the car. It's sad.

And now I will finish my poor quality breakfast and make the 2 and a half hour drive back home, disappointed.

Wow. frown.gif

What the fu*k happened to it to get that damaged, was it in an accident? That sounds like a lot of crap gone wrong.

Having said that, I'm sure you can source parts here from members willing to resurrect the car...I know Dan has a dash sitting in his barn. Console panels can't be too hard to find, there are always cars parting out. TRD splitters aren't insanely hard to find either, and well, you'll just have to trash the other side skirt and buy a different set. Some body work would get rid of the alignment issues and paint can be cured as well.

Man oh manischevitz. That just positively SUCKS.

Like I said before, I say let a few more people come look at the car and reject it, hell, I'll even be a dummy prospect if it'll help! Then counter your offer with $1800. For that matter, if you're willing to buy it for $1800, I bet I could scare the kid into selling it to me for that amount. Then we could all just meet up and SURPRISE! You're the buyer. hee hee hee

For what it's worth, I'm willing to help however I can, feed me a little and I'll come up and help you restore it, we could at least get a good solid weekend in.

Perhaps. Bonnie and I would need to think about it. I would end up spending the $1200 saved on paint alone. It sounds like it needs a complete teardown, and I don't have the time, money, or space to do it. Its quite upsetting, really, but like Bonnie told me, "Maybe this was meant to be? Maybe this will help you let go of the car."

We didn't like the kid one bit. He was trying to be sneaky and disclose as little as possible. When I told him I used to own it, and started picking it apart he looked like he was going to s*** himself. Bonnie was on the verge of tears when we both agreed we would walk away for today. She wants it back as much as I do, but I trust her judgement, and when she says she has a bad feeling about someone or something I don't question it. Perhaps that is a woman thing...

Yeah, I've totally got a dash in my garage I can donate to restore this car. Just pay shipping and it's yours. That just seems like a lot of work to put into a car simply because it's an "icon" though. If this wasn't Coomer's car, I guarantee nobody would touch it.

No offense to Coomer, and I thank him (we all do) for creating this awesome site, but I don't really care that he car was his. He's pretty much abandoned 6GC, I doubt he even cherishes that car anymore. What I care about is that the thing is damned clean and has one of my favorite 6GC engine bays ever.

Sad to hear. Probably is a good thing you declined though, sounds like more work than it's worth at that price.

Like Michelle said, if you do at some point wind up getting it, let us know if you want help fixing her up. Would be more than happy to help get that car back on the road the way it used to be.

Sad, sounds just so far gone that its not really recoverable (would be easyer to start over on a stock 6gc) if you wanted something reliable anyway.

That does not really mean much, mine had a to be inspected by the dot when the first engine blew insurance comp. considered it a total loss but dot did not, I had the dot sticker but not a rebuilt title. (gray area between insurace and state)
