around here, tint removal and tint replacement is only a 100 bucks all around, that I don't bother with doing it myself, not worth the 100 bucks. plus it comes with warranty, but if you mess up yourself you gotta redo it. cost vs worth vs how often

Isnt a roll ~$40/box anyways? Might as well go with professional install, if you dont have the patience, you'll end up smashing a few holes in the wall. Not... that i know anything about that?.. biggrin.gif

the side windows and the winsheild are done 35%...and the rear and the rear sides are 5%...n my boy been doing this for a living for 12 years...and i paid 120.00 for it all...As for tinting it yourself...it actually is all about doing the prep work on it. it looks actually easy..the key is 2 spray water on the outside of your window, place the sheet there and cut it out on the outside of the window...have someone inside with a light so you can see the outer edge and you just trace it out with a exaco knife...and for the rear window and windsheild you gotta use a heat gun to shrink it to the window because it has its curve in it... ,then spay the inside of your windsheild or window so its real wet with water so it sides in2 place. remove the back lining of the tint and stick it to the window...adjust it to its position and then squeegy outward from the center and tuck it in at the edges.you can use the heat gun to stretch it if your off alittle with your cut...i will be doing my lexus as practice.....save 120.00....and that WAS discounted!!! good luck doing it and thanks for the post!

good tips. i tried tinting parts of my car before, and what you said is basically the way its done. it just comes down to experience.

only thing im going to give you crap for is tinting your front windshield. not only is it very illegal, its also very dangerous because you cant see as well. expect to get pulled over for that a lot.

Why the &$%# would you tint your windshield? Don't you want to see where you're going?

Tinting your front window is retarded, very unsafe, and very illegal.

thanks for all your comments...yes in my state 35% tint is legal for side door windows...and non moving windows and rear windsheild can be tinted as dark as you want....tinting your windsheilds are NOT legal...but with a 35% tint you can see in the vechicle...if i was in it...just when its empty it looks black because of the 5% on my rears... we have tint readers that the police have that shoots through your window to read the % of tint...so even if they shoot thru the winsheild it will still read a legal reading... as far as clearity...its fine...it really is...i would never go any darker than 35% on the winsheild. many mini vans and large winsheild cars get there winsheilds tinted because of the glare of the sun can be blinding.
