Hi,

A while ago I did my interior gauge panel lights with LEDs. They were the 5 SMD array ones. I forget which brand. Either way, on all of the lights one or more of the LEDs are either out, or are flickering. I'm convinced that it was just me buying cheap LEDs, but I'd like not to make the same mistake. So if you did your gauge panel with LEDs, and you've had it in there for more than 6 months, could I ask where you got your LEDs?

Thanks.

I did mine in vleds.com and they did the same thing. It took over a year for them to start flickering though. Mine only do it over the fuel/engine temp gauge. The speedo and tach always stay lit. I started a thread about this and to sum up what I learned, it's most likely some power inconsistencies, like the lights dimming when I hit my brakes. I bought cheap LED's the first time I did mine and they burned out after 2 months, but the vled's lasted quite a while.

I've had these installed in my dash for over a year and no problems. Just a bright white gauge cluster. V-LEDS Part ID: 194_5_SMT_W_6K The V-led rep did say to use the dimmer full on all the time as lowering the voltage to leds can cause problems. x7d8V

I was thinking it could be power inconsistencies as well. I think I'm going to build a voltage regulator to keep the 11-15V range at exactly 12V all the time.

Is there a specific one you are going with?

I've had nothing but problems with LEDs. Every single one I tried has failed and burned out after a few weeks or months.
