I got myself a GT-4 hood and bumper, now the question I have is regarding the hood. Obviously we all know the GT4 hood has the vents on them. Seeing that I have the GT 5s-FE engine. There is no top mount intercooler for the turbo I don't have. Also there are those three other vents on the hood. Now the question is what would happen if say I drive my car in the rain? Is all that rain gonna pretty much rain into my engine bay? There seems to be no type of insulation to keep water from going through the openings of the hood. Is there a solution to this? I just don't see how can rain or other forces of nature stay out of my engine bay.

Thanks in advance to anyone who cares to help me out on this one.

Yeah, there is a little cover thing you can get. it came with mine, but i took it off.

I'm in the same boat as you. but i left my cover off. Had it like that for months now... not an issue at all. never had anything go wrong with it...

I'm pretty sure its only an issue if your electrics get wet, or your air filter gets soaked.. don't quote me on that though

There is a rain tray that fits on the underside of the bonnet, the small round hole is for the cambelt cooling duct, the 2 at the rear of the bonnet are to aid the airflow, I've removed the rain covers & insulation from mine as it keeps the engine cooler & 4 years of rain & snow haven't done any harm smile.gif

Engines operate at 300 degrees+..water will evaporate pretty fast..
