ok..now i just got my 93 celica 3sgte front clip for 1000 and found the camry e-153 tranny for 500, bought a trd clutch, and a new timing belt and my question is am i missing anything else or can i finally begin the swap.
i've also been searching the forums here and there and i was also wondering do i need to change the axels and other stuff for the tranny that i have. don't forget that i have an automatic gt right now and i intend to change it in MT. I know i need shift linkages but for which one the camry or the celica? Can't i just put it right in and everything will be fine or do i have to change some stuff. Can you guys help me out here. |

Its a simple question, if he is asking and you are going ot tell him to search the forums, what help is that? That is my point...

Yes, I understand that it's a simple question. But it's just that simple to search... if one cannot take the time to research the ins and out of such a complex project, they have no merit tackling a 3S-GTE swap. If you look at all my posts, you won't find anything from me asking redundant questions. Why? Because I took the time to search and understand this superior motor. Basically, my POINT is this... not everything will be SPOON FED... I'm trying to teach everyone that if they take the time to search, they will be able to learn A LOT and become more knowledgeable. I guarantee that the time they spend on performing this simple (and laborous in some cases) task will be very rewarding. |

Your right about searching but seriously to someone who doesnt know alot about the mechanics of a celica, like parts and what not, there is alot of contridictory information on any board, one person says something and the next person says the opposite, so when you start a fresh thread and get the exact information you need its alot easier. But your right, the initial search of the site is where to start ,then present the information you found and ask for clarification. |
