So I decided to try and mold my RB because the sides had a 1/2" gap and a 1" gap! Keep in mind, my bodywork experience... well I dont have any lol. (and the whole car is getting repainted, this is just temp so its not too ugly)
Thanks to AJ for the info and help all the way again smile.gif
here goes nothin-
...Beginning Sanding...

Bondo kindasad.gif was nervous lol---

Got is pretty well, and primed and painted

Went back and sanded down and tried to smooth some edges down. (its just shiny because my car is very dirty, and it has clear coats on it. Thats what the whole kit looked like when i first did it. Just all needs a good 'ol dust cover lol)

Another

Started the worse side, getting a hand of the bondo (I did sand alot more to the metal)

Painting...

Finished for now, I think it turned out pretty good for never using the stuff before lol

Now for the 3rd brake light design, thanks to barterj and spy00005 for the idea

Unlit-

Lit up-

Did my gauges red the other day, working on the red turns friday

WOO!! my fav. part of the day actually was seeing how great these decals looked (I do have a mechman 250amp alt)
Unveiling redface.gif

Drivers side

Passengers Side

So thats where she sits now.

Sorry for the bad quality pics all with my phone, will have my friend (who works for a photography company) take some good ones before the NJ meet sat!
tell me what you think smile.gif

Well, I dont really know if you can fill in voids with fg on metal. Bondo maybe? As far as surface rust, sand it down, and put primer/paint on it (anything really that will keep the bare metal from being exposed)....Id go into the whole anode/cathode thing, but its late.
I did use some rust remover/primer stuff (royal something...) on my rotors and it worked fine..not super great, but ok.

you can use a fiberglass patch, you just need to know what your doing, i used it before on my old truck, its a bitch to work with though, but do not use bondo on any hole bigger than a quater

If the rust is that bad, you might want to use a small sander. But if its not too large of a surface area, Id opt to do it manually. Just remember to put a good coat of primer on it (that'll help keep the metal from being exposed) so you don't have to do this again.

hey bro this is easly fixable if you have a home depot near you or advance auto or autozone in my experience home dpot is the easiest an best to use but they all sell similar stuff wut you need is a liquid solution i dont remember what its called but its in a clear bottle with red lettering an green liquid what you do is brush this solution onto the metal and leave it for five minutes wash with soap and water and reaply if needed this will be one of the only ways to stop the rust as sandig will only clean the surface this solution penatrates through the pores of the metal and temp. seals the metal surface then all you need do is primer then primer seal it or fiberglass but if you dont use this solution an just fiber glass over the rust it will continue to spread under the fiber glass just go to home depot and in the paint isle as the guy for a deruster he can tell you wut it is/where sorry didnt know if anyone else covered this but on my way out an didnt have ebough time to read it as im on the way out if you need the nme i can get for just let me know

best thing to do is have a professional cut all the rust out and put metal patches in. If you Fiber glass it, i give it a year before it comes back

Yeah the rust is not bad, but I can just see it bubbling under the paint, so I know its getting ready to spread frown.gif
Got some "rust killer" stuff today.
Going to sand it all down to bare metal, spray more rust killer, then I got some rust preventative primer, and some automotive primer, that I will be spraying the crap out of.
But it doesnt have to look pretty as the SS are just going right aver top of it.
Ill post pics tomorrow as I start (as long as the snow keeps away!)
thanks for your thoughts everyone!

search button....

you cut away a little bit to make them fit. just take a dremel tool and cut out a little notch and you can then slide them in.

you can see how i put mine in back in the day

first buy these then get a drill and drill a small hole in the lower splitter, then use a jigsaw to cut a hole the same size as the lights, place lights in and glue in place from behind with liquid nails, then wire them to a switch and hey presto....

i was a little confused by that comment too, i know it doesn't read well as other comments in the thread are answers to questions that are no longer there but as lon as Mgnt232 is getting the help he wants then i don't see what is wrong with it, if you don't want to read his updates don't, but don't try to make something out of it as we all need advice and that it what this site is about.....keep the questions coming and i will keep answering if i can my friend!
