Dont have a picture of what it looked like when I first got her.
But this is after i cleaner her up, fixed some scratches bought a repainted the front left fender.
Put on a spoiler and got my decals, hubcaps, most of my system made a custom box, none of the 1/0 gauge wire that is all throughout her
Did not move at this point-

Replacing the clutch, all the brake lines, brakes, front shocks, tires, muffler, made a custom front engine mount, all around engine tune up

Stock 7A-FE

Painted a little, Got a CAI and a Cat-back

Painted alot, with a new 7A-FE

Painted a little bit inside

Painted alot

Got rims and painted the calipers and drums

Got a 250 amp alternator smile.gif Kinetik batteries all 1/0 guage wiring

Body kit arrived!

Found alot of side rust (all along the side, and under)

Sanded and primed

After a long install, and got underglow

Started prime and paint the kit (temp. getting car repainted next month)

Where she is now, need to finish the paint up tomorrow and slap the rims back on (live in upstate NY so they were off for the winter)

Well thats where she is now, will get good pics tuesday night with the rims and everything painted
Tell me what you think, shes come a long way from not moving, and its been alot of "fun!" (*cough*work*cough)lol

Is there some certain type of paint I should use? I really dont know alot about painting, can I use any primer?
If you dont mind could you get me a link to something you would use? (im really clueless about it)
Do you think it will come to a relatively close color? or will it just look stupid?
I really want to do red, but I am on the fence about grey... idk what to do! lol

go to home depot and get a can of rustolium red gloss, it will be a lil different but it covers well and won't look terrible, at least until you can afford to paint the car....thats what i use.

it is a primer so no need to prime it, wipe it over with a green srubbing pad (like you wash the dishes with) and have at it.....

Alright I am 90% positive im going to go red now, hopefully it will go well.
I did have two more questions though.
Did you ever have preface lift front turns, and did they fit your kit in the slightest? my turns I dont know what to do with, Should I just buy '96+ clear ones? Are they different?
And did you ever put mesh in the FB? Was that hard to do? I got some but not real sure what to do with it lol.
Ok so I guess alot more than 2 questions, you are just the most helpful person when it comes to my kit.
How did you get ur license plate to go there I guess-

Okay for...well, I can't say who's sake, but could you please keep your updates in one thread? There is no need to create a thread for each small thing you do. You posted a thread for a question regarding the kit, when you first got the kit, and now this. You could have posted all of that in one thread.

Having said that, congratulations on your installation.

ok, 1st... my 95 front lights were no help at all i bought facelift ones off e-bay, had to cut the bumper a lil bit to make them fit back like mine, otherwise they sit right under the lip and look odd. (to me anyway)

2nd... i meshed the whole kit, all three front sections and the two in the rear (which i fitted led's behind) and i used wing nuts and large washers to mount the front plate to the mesh, its quite easy to do just get the mesh from like home depot, cut it a few inchs bigger than the hole and bend it over the edges and bond with liquid nails.

just keep asking and if i know i'll answer.....

i mean instead of buying the kit, i would've bought a drop so i can get used to the height before lowering body components. Just drive with caution and you wont rip your bumper off

ohh ohh, I see what you mean, the FB really only is like an inch lower, but I have been driving cautiously. Got through a speed dip fine today. But I may lower it in the summer, but I have 17's and they just barely clear the inner wheel well plastic cover when turned to either extreme (there is only about a half inch from starting to pull the inner wheel well down when I turn)
not sure if dropping it will make my rims not fit?
what do you think of the progress? btw?

Yea I did mine myself. Difficulty level..well it really depends on what tools you have available, mechanically inclined you are and have ya done the research.

I could of course spent over a thousand on a impressive coilover system, that i'll never ever use the full potential of. Being I don't race, and its my DD, I went with a practical solution. Replacing the front and rears with KYB-GR2 struts, and picking a coilover sleeve system that was not on backorder. It may have not been the best, but it works, and the end result is the car feels and drives better, and I'm happy (The only real importance)

Having the correct tools really makes a diffrence, I suggest air tools if you want to invest, but its one good investment. I personally purchased 80 in tools this weekend just to finish the rear struts and passenger axle. Its not the easiest job, but certainly easier then doing a swap!

Just throw me a PM if you get stuck on anything when the times comes around to getting it done, there is quite a few steps that aren't mentioned in the walk throughs or directions that come with the equipment that have to just be...figured out. That is if you go the same route, I have no idea on coilovers systems or air systems. Struts and sleeves did the trick for me.

thanks alot for th info again
I went to vo-tech in highschool and actually paid attention (9 of 13 kids failed out) So I can go there any time to work on the lifts with any tools imaginable.
Did your suspension lower the car at all? If it did can you tell me what you got? I dont race either actually very safe driver because I do all the work myself (appreciate my car alot, and would never risk hurting her lol) and my car didnt move when I got her and its also my DD so I dont want anything too expensive just want to drop it little for the summer.
But now I have to look into a cheap winter snow car as if i drop my car any with the kit, its going to be a snow plow in upstate NY lol

Ah, very lucky on having access to tools and lift like that. I would kill for that, would save me so much time having to put the damn thing on stands every time I want to do something.

Yea the suspension dropped her alot, more then I thought it would. Technically I have no idea how low I am, I know I can go more, but am pretty comfortable with it right now. I have the sleeve set at 1.5, but it appears much lower, when placing fingers to tire to fender, its 3 fingers width front and back. I've only slammed the ground once..was stupid. Smoking a cig, opening my red bull, and going oh crap I need to go, poped the clutch and slammed the ground, forgetting about the huge dip coming out the gas station.

The last post, being an before and after on my progression thread, gives ya a idea. Camera sucks, but works nontheless
