Iam thinking turboing the 7afe but i dont know a lot about turboing and about cars.... I have gained some knowledge tho through howstuffworks.com and from here but i dunno if iam capable... Also i dunno if its worth it to do it to my car which has 84,000 on it.... Ne1 else stuck on what to do to get some more kick?? I would love love to go to turbo... but i dunno if i could assemble all the parts and do all the work... I also dont know where to source all my parts and get a good setup for not to much money... I will just give you my best advice;
If you don't know how to do and don't have the time to know, then buy it, or ask to a good friend to help you. BUT If you don't have so much money, never try to do anything performing and difficult on a car, specially if you know nothing; this should cost you a lot of money to learn how-to do it and repare your error. Installing a Turbo is not so easy than change your tire... |

if you want to turbo you have to do your homework... and thats not only looking online.. you have to pick up some books...go check somebooks out about booting... read any and everything you can... stuff on what and whatnot to do... the ask people that have custom turbo kits...once you have enuff know how... get more information...

dude i totally know what you mean. i could totally use the extra power from a turbo, but i just dont wanna go through the trouble of installation. and then theres ther california smog regulations that i have to go through. so from here on out im goin to focus totally on the suspension setup. the way i see it its a waste to put any more money into the 7a. i would rather spend money on upgrading the best feature of the car, the suspension. thats just me though |

I just recently went through the same delimma. I'm making decent money now, so I was seriously thinking about buying a new car, perhaps an EVO or an SRT-4. But after one of my friends just wrecked his brand new STi I'm thinking thats not such a good idea. I'm really not down with the insurance companies right now, so I'd rather have something thats not too difficult or expensive to replace. I also love many things about the 6gc and just want to improve on the things I don't like. I decided to go turbo. Granted, my skill level and available resources are higher than most. I don't recommend this to anyone thats not willing to work hard at it. I think most people can learn enough to do it, but it takes work and time.
If things end up the way I want, I'll have a car thats as fast or faster than the new cars I was thinking about buying, and at a fraction of the cost. |

after 14 months of research and parts gathering it took me 3 weekends to get everything on the way i liked it that involved solving a lot of problems that i ran into. i have spent about $2k for my setup to date. im looking to buy a fuel pump, fmic and get some dyno tuning then its time for another car. edit btw the car was fully drivable between those weekends, oh and, im still working on it, lol This post has been edited by 97sccelica: Nov 13, 2003 - 12:11 AM -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

at my school we have this thing were all students must read for 15minutes during 4th period it made for great reading and it has A LOT OF INFORMATION while all the info is on the net already, that bookis great for when you are workign on the car and cant get to a pc it will teach you ALL the things you need to know about a turbo/turbo setup. the only thing you wont get out of the book is first hand experience. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition
