i just put in a motor in my celcica and its not getting spark. i put a test light in the coil and it dont pulsate but it turns on. can anyone tell me if its supposed to pulsate? and if anyone had this problem before help me out please. im buyign new cap and rotor and plugs and wires tomorrow but it still wontfix my issue. poss a crank sensor?

one of the threads will show you this sticky:

Go to page 19 on the PDF file and follow the instructions for the CEL #12 for distributor resistance. This will tell you if your Distrib is GAY thumbsup.gif

The crank sensor is near the oil pump housing........so HOPE its not the problem.

Start with the Distrib ^^ then move on to the Ignition Module, the the connectors on the ECU.

Cheapest Part ---Most expensive

ok found my prob. took me a lil till i relized this. 95 1.8 motor into a 96 celica!! what changed? lol i need a crank postion sensor the 95 1.8 had a cam position sensor in the distributer so i seen that extra plug and didnt thinkn anything of it soo i pulled the ditributer out put in a 96 distributer and totally forgat (i need a crank position senor) duhhhh hahah

Yes. Crank sensor is what is needed the cam sensor is not used on the 96 year That is what I didn't realize
