If you specify what exact models of each component you're getting, we can let you know if your price is fair or not, but with such vague information, it's impossible to tell.
I'll tell you that if I had $1500 to spend, I'd have a system consisting of Elemental Designs, JBL, MB Quart, Clarion, RaamMat, and Monster Cables. If you'd like, I'll give you the exact specs of the SQ and SPL system that I would have with $1,500. Also, are you big into SQ, or SPL, or both? What types of music do you typically listen to? -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Subwoofer - Elemental Designs e12A.22(12" dvc subwoofer) - $295
Subwoofer Amp - JBL 600.1 - $200 Front Speakers - MB Quart RCE 216(6.5" component set) - $180 Front Stage Amp - JBL 180.2 - $155 Head Unit - Clarion DXZ835MP - $255 Sound Deadener - RAAMmat60(62.5 sq. ft.) - $110 Cables - $80 That would leave me with $225 left. With about $75 of that money, you could purchase the materials to build a very nice fiberglass subwoofer enclosure and some sweet kick panels, and you could do the work yourself, as it really isn't that difficult from what I've read. I'm in the process of building a fiberglass subwoofer enclosure for my temporary car right now. That would leave you with $150, which you could use to buy things such as a set of rear speakers or more sound deadener, or the higher-level MB Quart speakers, etc. I didn't factor in rear speakers into my list because I'm not a fan of rear fill. Hope this helps. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

i'm extremely satisfied with my kicker solobaric L7 10's. i'm pushig close to 1500 watts to them and they handle it without any distortion. i would recomend them to anybody, and i listen to everything from tool to ludacris to crystal method they handle a broad range of bass freq. alot better than the 12' i had. And they look sweet to top it off.

you guys when it comes to sounds systems i dont really know much so i ask around and you guys seem to kno alot i went to my cousins shop and he said he would give me 2 10" JL W3 ( are those good sub?) i heard JL's are good but i hear alot about the W6 and W7, he said he would give me MB quarts speakers, pretty much the head unit of my choice, dynamat, monstercables, i think he siad fosgate amplifiers and the bass box. for 1500 or maybe a lil less what do you guys think of that? good deal or look somewhere else?
-Anthony- to me it sounds like the other place had given me a louder sounding system since they were gonna give me 2 12" fosgate subs with a 1600 watt audiobahn amp i think it was. |

find out what the fosgate subs are, 'cause i used to have 2 12" Zs and one of my 10" SL7s were louder than both the 12s. The W3s are suppose to be pretty good but i never heard them. Sounds like ur original setup just had a crappy amp. Kicker Comps aren't that bad, had a friend that had 4 12" comps. in his truck and warped his roof so if flexed with the bass chipping away the paint. That was powered by a couple PGs. Element D. is the sub to go if you can afford it, and cerwin vega has nice stuff for good prices.

If you give us exact specifications and model numbers on the equipment you're being offered, we can help you a lot more. Like, what kind of amplifiers would you be getting, what kind of MB Quart speakers would they be? What's the best head-unit he'll let you get, what kind of box you're getting, etc. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

a good indication of what your gonna get is look at the specs on the equipment. For example speakers, how much can they handle (watts) both peak and rms, are they dual voice coil what frequency range are they good for etc... The same goes for amps, i got some pretty cheap hifonics amps and i'm perfectly happy with them, i can't vouche(?) for reliability though, only had them a few weeks.

also i got my whole system for around $1500, thats minus wires and miscelaneous other installation items that ran almost $500, but that includes my optima battery, and the fact that everything is overpriced up here, and i installed it all myself.

The price for all of that stuff is good, though with less money, you could have a more reliable system with higher quality components that sounds way better.
