ok so i ordered everything from rock auto for a 94 celica gt brake wise and so i set off to assemble everything and the caliper brackets dont line up with the bolt holes on the st spindles at all

i got all gt stuff because the brakes are bigger and the price differnce was only 15 dollars or so, plus my front brakes are on there last leg anyway

do i have to get spindles for a gt to bolt this stuff up or was i sent the wrong semi loaded calipers?

and please no just get a gt comments, i have a turbo rwd celica if i want to do go fast

GT brakes bolt onto ST hubs.
you just need GT calipers, GT caliper brackets (called a torque plate), and GT pads/rotors.

I'll have to second that since I did the same conversion on my ST with no problems.

no one has any ideas

the only other thing i can think of is try to use 92-93 5th gen gt/gts/ alltrac calipers with the 6th gen rotors, thats only cause i have a pair, or go and pull 6th gen gt front hubs but i dont know if the st axles fit in the spines or hole of the spindle.

I think you got the wrong parts.

try getting calipers/brackets from a 95 celica instead.

QUOTE
can u send me a backside and front pic of your gt front brakes

also did you use gt hubs?

I did not use GT hubs, they bolted right to my ST hubs w/ no problems.
You need the calipers (painted red), brackets (painted black), brake pads, shims, and rotors. I'm really not 100% sure if you need the brake lines since I installed ss lines at the same time but I'm like 95% sure you can use the ST rubber lines.
I do not have a picture of the back side where it mounts to the hub, I just have a picture of the front and the calipers/brackets before they were installed.

this was to show how the fit kit goes in, I have a few more pics of them on the table before installation but I'm not sure if those will help you at all, I would have to upload them from my home comp later anyway.

If you are worried about brake performance the fronts wont make that much of a difference, the rear drum to disc conversion will make a bigger difference in brake performance. I did the rear disc conversion for brake performance and the fronts just for aesthetics cause the ST fronts looked like the same size as the GT rears which looked strange to me.

Before... ST fronts, GT rears

After... GT front and rear

well i got all gt stuff due to the price difference was about 20 bucks so i figured why not get better stuff if i have to replace all the parts anyway

if u got any more table pics of the backside of the bracket that may help, im trying to figure out if i got the wrong brackets or not

I'm pretty sure I got the brackets used, they don't typically come with calipers and you usually can't get them at an autozone type place.

^Those look closer to the newer celica (7th gen) calipers

Buy a set of reman. loaded calipers from advanced/autozone and use those wrong ones as the core laugh.gif
