i have a section of about a foot, that i need to connect my exhaust, that's where the original cat for the 3sge goes, however the shop here quoted me nearly 270 plus tax (10%)
which, they dont have flanges, they will have to hack my exhaust to solder their pos cat. I know is custom work, but this is ridiculous. am i being cheapskate. -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... Straight pipe and some flanges, the exhaust shop should be able to put it all together.
$300 for a cat is cheap, its also aftermarket crap that will not work any better than a straight pipe. If you have problems with the check engine light coming on, get one of those spark plug non-foulers from autozone, drill it out a little and put it between your second o2 sensor and the pipe. I have no cat on my '97 7AFTE and no cat on the '94 Beams, no problems yet. I'm not even sure if the Beams ECU monitors the rear o2 sensor or cat at all.
