sorry migga, been busy working on other projects, and havent had time to work on our car.
jenns been driving it daily, no issues, its an absolute dream to drive.
over the next few weeks i've got to repair and repaint the rear bumper, paint the wing posts and clear the wing, install that, reinstall the splitters, and finish up the engine bay, then we'll be ready for a real "shoot". smile.gif

here are some pics.

When I got to these pictures I got a huge smile on my face, It reminded me of a conversation we had about 5 years ago about making a fog light harness. You proved once again if you just take the time and research you can do anything, anyone else can do ...
I'm going to have to take a trip up there soon and visit with you guys ..

lmao, mac, yea, i remember that very conversation!
for those that dont know what macs talking about...5+ years ago, when i installed the gt-4 front end, i talked to mac about how to wire in the fog lights, cause i really had no idea on what to do.
mac said "its easy, man, just take your time, research, and use this little diagram ill make for you"
i did, and it worked like a charm.
just a matter of learning. thumbsup.gif

definetly lookin forward to seein ya mac!

yes. the 94-95s didnt all come prewired for the fogs, i wired in my own relay and switch since i didnt have the stalk with the fog switch built in.

Speaking of that, Anybody figure out how to make the foglights stay on with the highbeam? My '96 Vert has the fogs wired in, I hate when I flick on the hi-beam and the fogs cut off, I also want the fogs to be able to turn on with the park lights on and low beam off....Everybody keeps telling me to just run a plain old switch which would be easy for me I know...but Im trying to keep the OEM look+function.

BTW sorry to thread jack smile.gif

How big of a difference is the 3s compared to a turbo 5s ? Doesn't it cost about the same ? I'm asking bc since I have steady funds coming I'm now and I have a rebuilt 5s I'm looking to turbo it.

P.S. I'm not trying to get your thread O/T if you like I can PM and talk like that. Your just one of the masters of the 5s lol.

you can turbo for cheaper than a swap, but dont expect it to perform like a swapped car.
a properly built 5sfte can last a LONG time (i beat the piss outta mine for almost 5 years), and is lots of fun, but it takes more than just throwing parts on the 5s, and mashing the pedal down.
like any factory non turbo car, its all in the tuning, and it just plain costs money to do that right, there really isnt a way around it.
people may try to tell you diffrent, but unless your capable of tuning a full standalone from the ground up, (or have the money and know the right people to tune it for you) a 5sfte will always have little hiccups and burps in the tuning, and just makes the car a bit more "notchy" and moody.
now, thats not saying that the 5s isnt great in turbo form, cause it definetly is a blast to drive, it just takes some getting used to, and you learn to suit your driving style to the setup.

powerwise, in the long run the 3s always pulls away. twoards the end of the 5sfte run, the car was a total beast, and was definetly right there with the 3s, but the way the power is delievered between the 2 setups is quite diffrent.
since the 5s is not a performance oriented motor, it dont really like to rev high, and turboed, builds all its power down low. it gives you a real push back into the seat, and feels like a monster when the turbo hits.
as you get closer and closer to redline, the car dont really feel like it gets much faster. (although the cams definetly helped with that)
the 3s on the other hand, the power delivery is much more linear, it feels like it keeps getting faster as the revs build. merging onto the highway in 3rd gear is amazing with the 3rd gen, it just pulls so hard all the way to 7k rpm.
if you can save money, do it, and buy a 3rd gen setup, you wont be dissapointed.
if your on a tight budget, and want to build your own setup, the 5sfte is a very viable option IMO.

ok so we've been driving the car ~3 months or so, no real updates, everything has been smooth as butter with the car.
i did manage to spend a couple hrs in the garage on thursday, so i made a new 3" intake for the car.

ill clean up the welds, and have it powdercoated next week sometime.

compared to the 5sfte intake from back in the day, this one looks very boring..lol ill have to figure somthing out to spice it up abit, maybe a painted on TRD logo or somthing...any ideas?
