Great progress Dan - that tea looks mighty tasty. wink.gif

Can't wait to see it all together and spiffy lookin'; small question though, did you go with GT-Four decals for the blocks because you'll be running a GT4 front end?

PS: I'll take those clear sidemarkers off your hands when you and the missus are readying to let them go.

The tea was indeed delicious. Or I might have burned it. I don't remember. It's been too long. laugh.gif We actually couldn't care less about having the riser blocks labeled as "GT-Four" riser blocks, nor do we intend to lead people on to believe that this car is more than it actually is. We couldn't decide if we wanted to go for the decals or not, but eventually decided we wanted a small black accent somewhere to complement the roof and license plate bezel. So we didn't buy the decals because they say "GT-Four," but instead because they are simple and black and will hopefully be visually appealing. We put way too much thought into that. The sidemarkers are yours. We just need to pick them up from the body shop.

That makes sense actually and, other than 6gc members, no one will really question the block decals other than the way they complement the paint scheme. The car is going to look great, my friend.

Just PM me once you have the sidemarkers, no rush, and I'll send you payment. Thank you, Daniel.

why don't you get the ss-3 decals for riser blocks?

so all looks good so far. nice choice on color.

We went for the "GT-Four" decals partially because of the GT-Four front end and partially because if we went with SS-III, we'd want the real emblems instead of just black decals. We wanted the black decals just for the visuals of it.

Crap... I totally went to the body shop today and totally even looked at the sidemarkers, didn't remember to grab them. Just got wrapped up in talking to the shop owner and whatnot.

Done and done.

The paint seriously looks awesome. It's no show car, but there's a lot less orange peel than the stock paint job and everything was well done. The skirts and front splitters have been fitted much better than I had them, and everything looks great. Of course, nothing good comes without a downside... One of the rims now has some pretty deep scratches in it, the window tint on the driver side window has been scraped off in a couple of places, and now there's a short in my wiring somewhere so no taillights. I don't understand how three things they never touched got damaged... Gotta call them tomorrow. It won't be a friendly phone call. Granted, they cut us a great deal but I mean come on, seriously?

Other than the scratches on the rim (no bueno y no me gusta) and the electric gremlins, that is a great paint job, sir.

Now I really want to go to CSP.

Attaching the rear bumper cover, tail lights, etc... possibley overlooked correctly reattaching wire harness// grounds?
Ive got a few gremlins to find since " the other " car was painted. Most likely grounds in my case.
Never paid attention to the Celica wires since I never messed with any wires // harnesses.

Looks great! Sucks about the other though. When you call about it you should say you were pulled over and ticketed for having nonoperational signals, that way you can yell at them and not feel bad about it. tongue.gif

Paint job looks fantastic!

But they defaced a Caldina alloy -.- That is seriously not just a little mistake, but obvious neglect - any professional service should be able to operate without damaging goods, and if they do they should make it right.

You can get them shipped individually from Japan - I could get that organized for you if you like - hopefully at the painters expense! A keep that in mind when you are 'negotiating' with the business tomorrow.

Just finished putting the "GT-Four" decals on the riser blocks and getting the LED strips in the floorboards. Was going to put the antenna in as well but I'm feeling lazy and grouchy. Truthfully, I had Brigette put the decals on. She did fine work. She also impersonated boost noises for me earlier today, so there's going to be a ring in our future. smile.gif Any girl that loves boost noises and is willing to make the sounds for you is a girl worth marrying! I would do the antenna and the other little things this Saturday but the wifey and I are taking a weekend trip. Nothing too special but it beats spending a hot weekend wrenching on a car.

I'm still disappointed and grouchy about the small things. Totally ruined my day. Yeah, I know the scratch on the rim and the tint being messed up aren't going to change the world, but the taillights not working.... That pisses me off. The body shop is two hours away from where I'm living and I now have no weekdays off. Of course the body shop isn't open on Saturdays either. I'm guessing the problem is where I extended the wiring for my projector sidemarkers, but of course my fenders are now shaved and the front splitters are mounted semi-permanently, making the wiring near impossible to access. Especially a paint to get to on a mere hunch that the issue is inside the wiring in the fender. I may be able to get to it by pulling the front rims off and pulling the splash guards out of the fenders. I'll have to check in a couple of weeks. In the meantime... No nighttime driving.

I can't wait for the meet to see this thing. I want my girlfriend to see a decked out Celica in full glory. So she understands my sickness lol

That sucks about the rim. But you know what's worse?

Curbing them yourself. I may or may not have done that recently.

Anyway, your experience only strengthens my distrust of shops. You better believe I'm pulling my motor before handing off the shell for paint!

...except righteous hilarity, Mike!

Good luck with the wiring Daniel; are you guessing that a splice may have shorted/cut the wiring to the taillights?

Fat cats on a wednesday morning, huh...

Congratulations Daniel. The paint looks fantastic, I'm curious if you had the bay & jambs resprayed as well? I don't think you'll ever tire of that of that scheme.

As for the other things, that's why I don't trust anyone a wrench or paint monkey with my vehicle. They really should replace or recoat that wheel, though.
