QUOTE(Davesceli @ Feb 7, 2007 - 3:26 AM) Would there be any noticeable improvements?? Where would i mount it? I can't see it doing much on a 7afe or 5sfe. It might do a little though on a 5sfe. Getting polyurithane mounts will most likely give you the same effect. I know they help with the 3sgte's though. I'm not sure on were to mount one. -------------------- Live Free, Be Happy

What do you mean by torque dampeners?
Vibration dampeners? What exactly are you trying to do? -------------------- |

I was looking at my friends rsx and he has a damper attached from the strut to the engine (engine mount, i think). It kind of slows the movement of the engine when he revs. It doesn't rock as much when he hits the pedal.

it'll help with traction issues, trying to achieve the same thing polymounts do. by stiffening the motors connections to the car means it rotates less and transfers for of the spent energy to the ground

i used one on my honda crx delsol, and it was brill! my mounts were old and the motor moved around,it was a high tuned and high reving vtec. its more work to fit new mounts as well very expensive. mine was a nrg and it was one of the best mods i did, they normally come with 2 sets of inserts and a preload setting. just dont have it to tight as your car will vibrate, also fited some energy suspecion mount inserts, saves the mounts and has the same afect. allows you to lossen the damper off but my engine didnt move, no wheel hop less tourqe steer and better gear changes as theres no miss alignment of the shifter assembly and the throttle feel was also much improved just felt brillant to be honest. well worth it if you can find one to fit the celica, im finding parts for my gt st202 a bit thin on the ground so let me know if you find one!
ps they join from a mount normally from top of engine to the engine bay say buy the suspencion. |

Just get the kirkasaurus mounts for an MR2. They will damn near lock the motor in place and you'll never have to replace your engine mounts. Downside is the car will shake a little at idle.
