My red power wire that runs from my battery to my amp fell off the 200watt fuse under the hood and hit something and shorted something out or burnt a wire or something.... It was running fine the other day and then it just died i popped the hood and there was the wire just sitting there next to my wiring harness. i moved it and it shot a spark so idk what exactly happened. Ive checked the entire harness and nothing is wired wrong or burnt or anything, ive replaced my distributor and distributor cap, Im still only getting fire from the #2 cylinder, the other 3 have no fire at all. So im lost and i dont know what to do do i need to buy another wiring harness ?? I've also tried another computer and it didnt do anything still the same. Does anyone know what wires i sohuld check or what ? #2 fires and i can get the car to start it will run for a few minutes REALLY rough then just die. I have no idea what to do. ANY help would be HUGELY appreciated.

well then that short you had did something you cant see. New harness, relays, fuse box, and other crap like that looks like your only option to do/check right now

I was thinking a new harness would fix it. Bescause all the fuses are fine. none are blown and all are connected just fine.

Remove all the sleeving from your harness, pull your entire engine harness out of the car up to the ecu and see how much of your wires you've toasted. Cut those off at the point where they're visibly 100% again, and replace. It's a lot of work that I just had done, but that work cost me close to $600.

I already took my entire wiring harness off and did that and nothing is toasted or disconnected . It's one major headache.

Test your spark plug wires to see if they're not shorted/burnt, check to see if your spark plugs are good, also look at your plug caps (The actual tube that does into the engine to the plugs, not sure of the exact term) and see if they're still shiny on the inside. If not, you've toasted something.

This is crazy... I've replaced all spark plugs, I've check those tubes. Still nothing I'm lost if I can't figure it out imm just pull the entire engine and order a engine swap.

I would guess either the COR, EFI relay, or the 30a & 40a AM fuses.
check for codes, that should point you in the right direction.

So time to bring this thread back to life a bit.... So i got a new harness from GriffGirl for the 5sfe. I hooked it up and same thing is still happening. And on the old harness i found a burnt wire and one that was like cut in half.

So any help at this point would be awsome. Me and the guy thats helping were thinking maybe i need another computer ? but i honestly have no idea.

I was told that i may need another harness that there was 2 one for basic electrical and another that controls injectors and such the wire that was burnt was one going to my spark plugs. only one spark plug is getting fire. I'd take pictures but i dont have a camera.
