had my car break down in the middle of nowhere Alabama, and I wasn't have it towed to some random shop with all of the A/V equipment in the back so I had it put on a flatbed and towed 166 miles at $3.50 a mile all the way home!!! It was expensive but I don't trust my car to just anyone!!!

got up at 4am, walked outside, looked around, went back inside and called work saying that i wasn't coming in today. then checked my email, bought a gt4 hood and hood latch, shoveled the ~20 inches of snow with the good'ol 4+foot snow drifts.. came back inside and watch dawn of the dead, now I'm here.

Code 42 is a common problem on ST205's. What it is is the ECU has no idea what speed the vehicle is going at a specific time when between 2,000 and 5,000 rpms.
The 205 had a Apexi Rev/Speed meter installed when I purchased the vehicle and it looked like crap so I tore it out.
Problem is the Apexi was tapped into the ECU to pick up the speedometer, so when i removed it, it had a broken line that I had no idea about. Drove it like this for about a year and just randomly the CEL would come on, was frustrating as hell.

I finished up work early today so I decided to tear into my car and found the broken wire on the ECU, soldered it up, and we are in business. Car idles and fires up sooooooo much better now. smile.gif I`m a happy camper today.

I'm assuming your mileage should improve as well. Nice work!

My honest answer? I'd be really tempted to just flat black the piss out of those.

Woke up at 4:00am, got ready to go to work and walked out the door. Looked around and didn't see that much snow until i went on my way to work. Turn onto CR-N in appleton and got about 1/2 to HWY 10 and spun out. I could only see about 3 ft in front of me and hit a snow drift higher than my front end.
I remember spinning about 8-10 times and found my self on the other side of the road pointing home. I took it as a hint and went home. Checked over the car and found i now need a driver's side wheel bearing, axle and a 4 wheel alignment. :-( Also found out that the axle they gave me thats installed is for an automatic. I have a manual tranny.... About time for a "facepalm".
